A recent report from Chinese social-media-management platform KAWO has revealed that multinationals in China overwhelmingly use social media as a marketing tool. After surveying 50 international business-to-business multinational corporations (MNCs) in the country, KAWO found that social media is a top marketing tool for MNCs in 20 different sectors.

According to the B2B Social Media Marketing Research Report, 94% of international business-to-business MNCs based in China pointed to social media as a major channel for marketing. In addition, 70% said they plan to increase their social media marketing budgets this year. Furthermore, 86% and 66% of the respondents identified offline events and paid search as top marketing channels with 38% noting that they would increase their paid search marketing budget in 2024. The report noted that the 44% of the respondents also suggested plans to cut their display ad budget.

The survey showed 42% of the polled international B2B MNCs noted that boosting brand awareness was the primary goal when they used social media for B2B marketing while 34% said they utilized it to generate leads. KAWO’s report also states that 88% of the companies used impressions, views and reads as social media metrics, and 80% considered generated leads as social media metrics.

Interestingly, only 18% of international MNCs said they use sales revenue as a social media metric. Prior to DMT’s administration, every participant was assessed through psychiatric interviews, medical exams and physical tests to eliminate any possible risk factors. The study involved a prospective sample analysis and placebo, with 13 participants receiving a dose of DMT, which was followed by a placebo a week later. This enabled the investigators to detect any changes that could be attributed to DMT by comparing the results of both sessions.

In the prospective sample, the researchers were focused on determining the impact DMT had on psychological well-being. The investigators observed considerable improvements in symptoms of depression after DMT was administered. This, they explained, highlighted the drug’s potential as a rapid-acting agent.

They also observed a link between the intensity of the feeling of oneness with the world brought on by DMT and improvements in mental-health outcomes. This, they noted, suggested that the psychedelic experience’s qualitative aspects could play a significant role in its therapeutic potential.

In the report, Dr. Chris Timmermann, the author of the study,  stated that DMT had lower scores of symptoms of depression in healthy volunteers in a similar way to LSD and psilocybin. Timmerman is the head of DMT Research Group at Imperial College London’s Centre for Psychedelic Research. Additionally, the investigators observed a considerable drop in neuroticism in the placebo-controlled trial, which suggests that DMT could have a lasting impact on personality traits linked to mental health conditions.

Despite these promising results, the investigators noted that the focus on healthy volunteers with prior psychedelic experience, DMT dosage variability and the methodological differences between the two parts of the research could limit the generalizability of the study’s results.

Last week, Senate File 32 completed its third reading in the Wyoming senate. The bill has now been forwarded to the state’s House of Representatives. From there, it will be forwarded to undergo committee review and then be debated on the floor. If no amendments are proposed, it will be advanced to the governor’s desk for his veto or approval.

This bill seeks to impose a limitation on psychoactive substances and would eliminate the ability of anyone to sell hemp products that contained HHCo, delta-10, delta-8 and other products with low THC content in the state. This puts independently owned hemp businesses at risk for closure and may also reduce access to this medicinal plant for many who rely on it.

Platte Hemp Company LLC owners, Alicia and Sam Watt, voiced their concerns about how the measure would affect their business. The Watts launched their hemp shop in December 2018, with their primary objective being to offer green alternatives to prescription drugs including opioids and cigarettes.

Storm Copper

The high-grade Storm Copper Deposit is located 112 kilometers south of the community of Resolute Bay, Nunavut, on western Somerset Island, just south of the past-producing Polaris Pb-Zn Mine. The property comprises 173 contiguous mining claims, including the Storm Copper and Seal Zinc projects, covering an area of approximately 541,795 acres.

The Buckingham County Gold Project

The gold-bearing system at the Buckingham County Gold Project in Virginia lies within a belt hosting past producing mines, current gold mines and advanced gold explorations, stretching through Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Buckingham hosts a “Kirkland Lake-style” high grade gold vein returning values consistently over one ounce gold per ton and is underexplored both at depth and along almost one mile of strike length. CNM-Au8

CNM-Au8, Clene’s lead asset, is a highly concentrated aqueous suspension of catalytically active, clean-surfaced, faceted gold nanocrystals. Multiple pathogenic insults contribute to neuronal death. Mitochondrial dysfunction and NAD+ decline is a common final pathway in neurodegeneration, with NAD+ as a critical determinant of cell survival and function. CNM-Au8’s catalytic mechanisms target the energetic deficits, oxidative stress and accumulation of misfolded proteins that are common to many neurodegenerative diseases.

The unique catalytic mechanism of action of CNM-Au8 is hypothesized to act as a neuroprotective and remyelinating therapy in neurodegenerative disease states in order to: (1) drive, support and maintain beneficial metabolic and energetic cellular reactions within diseased, stressed and/or damaged cells, (2) directly catalyze the reduction of harmful, reactive oxygen species (“ROS”) and (3) promote protein homeostasis via activation of the heat shock factor-1 pathway, recognized to dampen the cytotoxicity caused by misfolded and denatured proteins, which are known to occur ubiquitously in neurodegenerative diseases.

More than 500 estimated years of collective exposure across ALS, MS, and Parkinson’s disease participants in CNM-Au8 clinical trials and Expanded Access Protocol (compassionate use) programs have been recorded without any observed safety signals.

In addition, SHRG’s Elepreneurs use the interactive, video-based VERB sales-marketing platform developed by Verb Technology Company Inc. The app utilizes proprietary interactive video data collection and analysis technology and provides next-generation customer relationship management, lead generation, and video marketing software applications.

Continued Momentum as Industry Leader

These selling strategies have resulted in sharp and consistent revenue gains. In the company’s 10-Q filed with the SEC for the three months ended Oct. 31, 2019, SHRG reported sales of $38.8 million for fiscal Q2 2019, an increase of 116% over sales of $17.9 million reported for the comparable quarter of 2018. Consolidated gross profit jumped by $16.2 million to $27.4 million for the same period compared to Q2 2018.

SHRG’s consolidated operating earnings were $3.9 million in the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, 2019, compared to $866,802 for the comparable period the prior year. Consolidated gross margin also grew 70.9% for the three months ended Oct. 31, 2019, compared to 62.2% the prior year.

These numbers are continuing a trend established over the past two years. In fiscal Q1 2019, SHRG achieved revenues of $35.4 million, more than double that of the comparable period in 2018. Even earlier, the company reported sales of $85.9 million for fiscal year ended April 30, 2019. This represents a nine-fold increase, or $77.5 million jump, over the company’s revenues of $8.4 million the prior year.

These numbers bring SHRG’s sales revenues since December 2017 — when the company’s Elevate product line was released — to an impressive cumulative total of $169 million.

Preparing for Success

SHRG is well prepared to continue and accommodate for this growth. The company recently expanded its corporate footprint by moving to a 10,000-square-foot facility in Plano, Texas, that offers ample room to expand as the company grows and flourish. The larger corporate locale provides space for a growing customer service department, product fulfillment, opportunity and training rooms, as well as a video production suite.

In addition, the company has a seasoned, expert leadership team in place, led by John “JT” Thatch. Thatch was appointed president and CEO of SHRG in March 2018, bringing to the company his expertise obtained from successfully starting, owning and operating several businesses in various industries. His experience with corporate growth, acquisitions, financing and negotiation in fast-paced and flexible environments will significantly assist SHRG as the company aims to expand and increase revenues.
