The Clueless, an artificial intelligence (AI) modeling agency in Spain, has designed an AI model known as Aitana. The model was designed by Rubén Cruz, who is also the founder of The Clueless.

In an interview, Cruz explained that after discovering that most projects were cancelled or put on hold due to issues with models or influencers and client numbers were dwindling, the agency decided to switch to artificial intelligence. Using AI, the company created its own influencer to use as a model for brands they worked with. Aitana is seen as a pink-haired, 25-year-old woman from Barcelona.

The company’s graphic designer revealed that once they realized people follow lives online, they focused on giving Aitana some reality so individuals could better relate to her. Aitana is portrayed as a fitness enthusiast who describes herself as caring and outgoing, according to her website.

The designers based their AI model on what society likes, with a focus on hobbies, tastes and niches that were trending. Even her name wasn’t chosen randomly; it contains the acronym for artificial intelligence, AI.

Cruz explained that by switching to an AI model, the agency could make a better living without depending on other people who wanted to make a ton of money by posing or those who had manias or egos. Through their model, the Clueless earns up to €10,000 in a month. This varies though, as she earns a little more than €1,000 for every advert she does. Aitana was also recently picked to be the face of a sports supplement company, Big. In addition, she uploads her photos in lingerie to a platform similar to OnlyFans known as Fanvue.

In the last couple of months, she gained more than 121,000 followers on Instagram. All her photos receive thousands of reactions and views. Aitana even receives private messages from celebrities who aren’t aware that she isn’t a real person. Cruz revealed that one well-known actor, who has almost five million followers on Instagram, messaged her asking her out.

To effectively operate the AI model, the company’s team has weekly meetings to create Aitana’s life. During the meeting, they make decisions on what she’ll do during the week, which photos will be uploaded on her feed, and which places she’ll visit.

With the elimination of wardrobe changes and photo shoots, all the design experts need in addition to AI is Photoshop to make it look like she visited popular locations in the world. The company believes that the adoption of AI by more companies will help reduce market prices and bolster small companies that cannot afford huge advertising campaigns.

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a condition characterized by the impaired ability to control or stop the use of alcohol despite adverse health, occupational or social consequences. A recent scientific review on cannabidiol (CBD) and its effects suggests that the compound may help manage symptoms of alcohol use disorder.

CBD is one of the two primary compounds found in the marijuana plant, the other being tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Unlike THC, CBD doesn’t induce a high when ingested. The nonpsychoactive compound does, however, possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

The review was carried out by local health districts in Sydney and researchers at the University of Sydney. Their objective was to investigate potential neurobiological mechanisms by which cannabidiol may relieve some symptoms of alcohol use disorder.

In their report, the researchers cited prior studies which suggested that cannabidiol could impact reward, salience, emotion regulation and generation as well as executive control processes. They explained that these processes were relevant to alcohol-seeking behaviors, which suggests that this compound could possibly help manage alcohol use disorder.

For their review, the investigators examined prior neuroimaging studies on the effects of cannabidiol on healthy brains, with a focus on how the compound affected activity in the brain as well as subjective measures such as mental sedation and anxiety.

The investigators stated in their report that while their review wasn’t supported by all the research presented, a majority of the literature proposed that cannabidiol could normalize the aforementioned processes via its effect on salience, limbic, fronto-striatial and mesocorticolimbic signaling. In their conclusion, the researchers highlighted the need for further studies into the effect of cannabidiol on the brain and behavior of individuals with alcohol use disorder.

This review’s findings provide additional support to the idea that compounds such as CBD could be useful in the treatment of substance use disorders. They also add to the growing body of research on the conditions cannabidiol may help treat, and how.

For instance, separate research has proposed that oral CBD doses may aid in the regulation of menstrual-related symptoms such as stress, anxiety and irritability. It should be noted that depression scores did not change during this study period.

The investigators published their review findings in the “Journal of Cannabis Research.”

In other news, the National Animal Supplement Council has deduced that CBD is safe for long-term use in canines. This comes after emerging research showed that cannabis can effectively manage conditions such as anxiety and some skin illnesses among dogs.

High gold to silver ratio

Historically, silver has traded at lower prices on an-ounce basis in comparison to gold. This makes it a more accessible metal, particularly if price is a major factor.

Currently, the price of silver stands at $24.67 an ounce while gold is going for $2,165.40 an ounce. This means that the two metals ratio is over 80, which shows gold is significantly more costly than silver.

For a long time now, this ratio has averaged around the 50s. With a ratio above 80, this may be a sign for investors to purchase silver while its price is still affordable.

For those not particularly inclined to investing in physical silver, stocks of silver mining companies such as Hecla Mining Company (NYSE: HL) could also be an option, though those stocks would be prone to the volatility that comes with shifting market forces such as geopolitical events.

With the upcoming Bitcoin halving event fast approaching, JP Morgan is betting on vertically integrated Bitcoin mining company Riot Blockchain Inc. (NASDAQ: RIOT). This is good news for the Bitcoin infrastructure innovator as the platform and other companies in the segment such as Marathon Digital Holdings have trended downward for the past month.

JPMorgan’s highly bullish sentiment on Riot Platforms’ stocks is a good sign of its growth prospects.

Bitcoin halving is an event where the cryptocurrency’s mining reward is cut in half. As per Bitcoin’s creators’ wishes, it takes the blockchain network around four years to open 210,000 additional blocks to consistently reduce the rate at which Blockchain is introduced.

The first Bitcoin mining reward was 50 Bitcoins, but after three halving events in November 2012, July 2016 and May 2020, the current reward is 6.25 Bitcoins. Once the upcoming halving event arrives, the block reward for mining bitcoin will fall by half to 3.125 Bitcoin.

As there were around 19.65 million Bitcoins in circulation as of March 2024, around 1.35 million BTC is set to be released as mining rewards.

JPMorgan is just one of several Wall Street institutions maintaining a bullish sentiment toward Riot Platform’s stock as the April 2024 halving event approaches. The financial institution issued a $15 price target for RIOT stock, pointing to a potential upside of nearly 30%, and causing Riot shares to surge by 7%.

JPMorgan analyst Reginald Smith also upgraded the Bitcoin infrastructure innovator’s rating from neutral to overweight and praised the company’s scale, liquidity and robust power contracts. These factors position Riot favorably against other cryptocurrency miners listed in the United States

According to Investing.com, the rating upgrade is due to expectations of Riot Platforms increasing its hash rate significantly. Riot is expected to increase its hash rate by 9 EH/s over the next few months and another 10 EH/s in the second half of the year, Investing.com reports, raising its total hash rate to 31.5 EH/s by the end of 2024.

InvestorPlace contributor Stavros Tousios says that Riot is also attracting optimistic investors because it has the segment’s lowest production costs, a metric that could potentially set it up for further growth in the future as the cryptocurrency market matures.

Riot Platform’s average one-year price target is projected to range between $11.11 to $27.30 and its annual revenue is projected to increase by 77.77% to $461.4 million.

The European Union has put forth a new guideline barring cryptocurrency transactions done via noncustodial wallets lacking verification as part of its broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations aimed at tackling financial crimes. The majority of the European Union Parliament’s primary commission approved the move on March 19, 2024, showcasing a united front against undisclosed transactions.

The measure specifically targets transactions routed via self-custody wallets lacking proper identification, including those made using internet applications, mobile phones or desktops. The directive seeks to close the gap exploited for anonymous fund transfers, a method commonly associated with illicit activities.

A core tenet of cryptocurrency is permissionlessness, which permits anybody to generate a cryptographic private key and permits unfettered, anonymous access to the system. The prohibition specifically covers custodial or hosted cryptocurrency wallets by third-party providers, including centralized exchanges. The prohibition extends to anonymous crypto payments of more than 3,000 euros ($3,259) as well as cash transactions of more than 10,000 euros ($10,863).

The recently adopted measure is slated for full implementation within three years of official promulgation. However, Irish legal firm Dillon Eustace anticipates expedited enforcement, heralding swift changes in the crypto market. The intricate regulatory framework governing anonymous crypto and cash transactions in the EU imposes stringent financial protocols.

Opposition to the measure has been robust, as evidenced by dissenting voices such as Patrick Breyer, a German MEP, as well as Alternative for Germany party member Gunnar Beck, both of whom voted against the legislation. Beck argues that such measures encroach upon financial autonomy and privacy, compromising the right to engage in anonymous transactions. This dissent underscores the divergence of opinions regarding the balance between individual freedoms and security.

Further, the wider cryptocurrency industry has voiced significant apprehensions about the European Union’s regulatory overhaul. Daniel “Loddi” Tröster, the host of the “Sound Money Bitcoin Podcast,” highlighted the practical hurdles posed by the measure, foreseeing its potential to impede a person’s ability to maintain their financial privacy and prevent the EU from adopting cryptocurrencies more widely. Concerns were raised about the adverse impact on donations and the overall utility of digital currencies.

Despite these restrictions, it is noteworthy that transactions between self-custody wallets are exempt from the new regulations. This differentiation reflects a nuanced regulatory approach aimed at curtailing misuse while preserving the inherent freedoms associated with crypto networks. The response from the crypto community has been varied, with some acknowledging the need for AML regulations while others fear excessive regulation could erode economic liberty and privacy.

It remains to be seen how these new EU regulations will impact offshore entities such as Bit Digital Inc. (NASDAQ: BTBT) and the clientele that they serve.

A conservative think tank in Colorado has voiced worries about a proposed measure that could have an impact on internet discussions of cannabis and associated products, including hemp. The bill, SB24-158, covers various aspects of internet regulations, including content policies and age verification. A noteworthy clause in it targets social media companies, mandating that they immediately take down any content that sells, promotes or endorses narcotics that are considered illegal.

The definition of “illicit substance” in the bill is expansive, encompassing not just illegal drugs but also substances regulated in the state. It broadly refers to controlled substances categorized under schedules I to V as per state law. Consequently, the bill’s impact would extend to state-legalized cannabis, specific psychedelics legalized through a recent ballot measure, and even some over-the-counter (OTC) medications, including cough syrups containing controlled substances such as codeine.

Additionally, the measure places restrictions on the amount of THC and the ratio of CBD to THC in specific hemp products, imposing restrictions on hemp-derived products meant for human consumption.

Should the bill become law, businesses would be obliged to declare the prohibition of promoting, selling or advertising illicit substances on their social media platforms.

The R Street Institute has expressed concerns about the proposed legislation, claiming that its ambiguous language addressing marketing and the expansive categorization of illegal substances could cause misunderstandings and possible violations of free expression. It points out that the strict language in the measure may make it more difficult for people to openly express positive opinions about cannabis online or for companies involved in the marijuana industry.

Further, the institute argues that these kinds of limitations would be unconstitutional under the First Amendment since the state would have chosen to outlaw the promotion or advertising of these substances in all media if there were actual risks involved. Instead, it highlights Colorado’s history of embracing cannabis legalization and culture, citing examples such as the auctioning of cannabis-themed license plates with terms such as “GOTWAX,” “HASH” and “420.”

SB24-158, which is expected to be reviewed by the Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee, is primarily supported by Democratic lawmakers, including Senators Dafna Michaelson Jenet and Chris Hansen, along with Representative Meghan Lukens.

Under the proposed legislation, social media companies would need to update and publicly disclose their policies by July 1, 2025. Any policy amendments would require prompt online publication within 14 days of going into effect. Additionally, the companies would be mandated to provide annual reports to Colorado’s state attorney general confirming compliance with the bill’s provisions regarding regulations and definitions of illicit substances.

The broader marijuana industry, including established entities such as Curaleaf Holdings Inc. (CSE: CURA) (OTCQX: CURLF), is likely to be concerned that retrogressive bills like the one is Colorado are being filed and considered.

Tellurium and the Green Energy Revolution

The U.S. is now looking to secure safe, domestic sources of tellurium and many other critical metals to pre-empt potential shortages. The Biden administration has instituted a stream of policies, particularly the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, to source solar components from North America and other “friendly” jurisdictions.

Projects

Deer Horn Tellurium-Gold-Silver-Copper Project

Deer Horn is located on 51.33 square kilometers (km) in west-central British Columbia, 36 km south of the prolific Huckleberry copper-molybdenum mine and 135 km southwest of the community of Burns Lake. It is one of few significant tellurium discoveries outside Asia and includes a 2.4 km-long vein system of high-grade gold, silver and tellurium, as well as broader zones of bulk-tonnage gold, silver and tellurium mineralization. The company completed a positive Preliminary Economic Estimate and has begun permitting for a 10,000-tonne bulk sample program to advance the project toward mine feasibility. It is North America’s only silver-gold-tellurium property with an NI 43-101 compliant tellurium resource, and it hosts a number of other mineralized targets and zone containing critical metals such as copper, tungsten and zinc.

First Tellurium owns 50% of the property, with an option to acquire up to a 75% interest. The company has engaged Dias Geophysical of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to conduct induced polarization (IP) geophysics on the Deer Horn Project in summer 2023. The program is designed to help develop drill targets for a subsequent drilling program.

Klondike Gold-Tellurium Project

The Klondike property is located in Saguache County, Colorado, southwest of Buena Vista in the state’s historical mining district. The company reports it has engaged Burgex Mining Consultants of Sandy, Utah, to stake additional claims around the Klondike property. The claims have been filed with the Bureau of Land Management.

Klondike demonstrates exceptional tellurium grades. Tellurium, used in high-efficiency cadmium telluride (Cd-Te) solar panels, next-generation lithium-ion batteries and thermoelectric devices to change heat into energy, is an essential element for the world’s transition to green energy.

The Klondike property was a top tellurium prospect owned previously by First Solar Inc., one of the world’s largest solar panel producers. First Solar terminated its worldwide raw materials exploration program in 2012 and sold the property to Colorado Klondike LLC, which optioned the project to First Tellurium. Colorado Klondike, led by First Solar’s former Exploration Manager in North America, is managing the upcoming exploration program.

The Colorado Geological Survey (CGS), in partnership with the Colorado School of Mines, reported on First Solar’s exploration at Klondike in 2015, noting: “Surface sampling by First Solar, Inc. in 2006 found very high tellurium grades of up to 3.3% (33,000 ppm), along with locally high gold grades. Tellurium grades at Klondike were the highest encountered in the company’s nationwide exploration program.”

Market Outlook

First Tellurium in spring 2023 referenced recent forecasts by the International Energy Agency (IEA) pointing to rapid growth in solar photovoltaic (solar PV) deployment worldwide. According to the agency, solar PV installations will generate more power by 2027 than any other energy source, including coal, natural gas and hydro. To meet this demand, consumption of both silver and tellurium, key components of solar panels, is expected to surge in coming years.

Chen Lin, founder of Lin Asset Management, has written in his investment newsletter for clients that solar PV is now the largest industrial usage of silver. He said that in 2022 solar PV production used about 12% of total silver demand, or about 120 million ounces of silver. Lin expects this number to rise dramatically in the coming years, and that is likely to lead to silver supply deficits for decades to come.

Lin points out that solar power is now the cheapest source of energy in many parts of the world and that all forecasts point to dramatic expansion of solar PV in the coming two decades. Conservative estimates forecast 300 gigawatts of solar PV production by 2027, up from the current level of about 200 gigawatts.

The ImmunePrep™ Platform

Immunotherapeutic antibodies to treat cancer are among the most valued assets in global medicine. However, these drugs suffer from a severe limitation: they are poorly delivered to cancer cell targets, and, as a result, a majority of patients do not respond to therapy.

The Sigyn team recognized that just a small fraction of an antibody dose reaches its cancer cell target, yet a significant portion of the same dose can be sequestered by circulating decoys that display the target (antigen) binding site of the antibody. In response, Sigyn designed the ImmunePrep™ platform to leverage the use of therapeutic antibodies to create extracorporeal blood purification devices that sweep antibody decoys from the bloodstream prior to the subsequent infusion (normal delivery) of the same therapeutic antibody.

The company believes its reverse decoy mechanism will increase the availability of antibodies to interact with their intended disease targets, and, simultaneously, the devices will also extract disease targets from the bloodstream to further improve patient benefit.

The opportunity to enhance the performance of therapeutic antibodies is significant. ChemoPrep™ and ChemoPure™

Recent scientific publications have reported that only 1% of chemotherapy is delivered to the tumor cell targets of cancer patients. In response, the Sigyn team designed ChemoPrep™ to overcome a delivery limitation of the most commonly administered drug to treat cancer.

The company is developing ChemoPrep™ to reduce the circulating presence of tumor-derived exosomes (tumor exosomes), which interfere with chemotherapy delivery. High concentrations of tumor exosomes in the bloodstream correspond with poor treatment outcomes, whereas low concentrations of tumor exosomes correspond with more favorable outcomes. As compared to non-cancer subjects, exosome populations are reported to be 10x to 500x higher in the bloodstream of cancer patients. Based on these factors, the company believes there is a compelling scientific rationale to reduce the circulating presence of tumor exosomes prior to chemotherapy administration.

Inversely, the Sigyn team recognized that if 99% of chemotherapy was missing its target, then there was a need to eliminate off-target chemotherapy from the bloodstream to reduce toxicity and limit organ damage. This factor led to the design of ChemoPure™ to reduce treatment toxicity by reducing the presence of off-target chemotherapy from the bloodstream. The company believes that a reduction in chemotoxicity may also alleviate treatment-related fatigue and potentially temper the long-term health consequences associated with chemotherapy administration.

An historic estimate by Exxon Minerals in 1982 reported a “proven and probable reserve of 6.4 million short tons at a grade of 2.2% copper, 2.8 grams per ton gold, 3.03% zinc, and 55 grams per ton silver.” The historic estimate has not been verified as a current mineral resource. None of the key assumptions, parameters, and methods used to prepare the historic estimate were reported by Exxon, and no resource categories were used. Significant data compilation, re-drilling and data verification may be required by a “qualified person” (as defined in National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects) before the historic estimate can be verified and upgraded to be a current mineral resource. A qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify it as a current mineral resource, and Arizona Metals is not treating the historic estimate as a current mineral resource.

The company also owns 100% of the Sugarloaf Peak Property in La Paz County, which is located on 4,400 acres of BLM claims. Sugarloaf is a heap-leach, open-pit target and has a historic estimate of “100 million tons containing 1.5 million ounces (of) gold” at a grade of 0.5 grams per ton. The historic estimate at the Sugarloaf Peak Property was reported by Westworld Resources in 1983. The historic estimate has not been verified as a current mineral resource. None of the key assumptions, parameters, and methods used to prepare the historic estimate were reported, and no resource categories were used. Significant data compilation, re-drilling and data verification may be required by a qualified person before the historic estimate can be verified and upgraded to a current mineral resource. Market Opportunity

The World Gold Council, an industry association representing gold producers with hundreds of mining operations in nearly 50 countries around the world, reports that global demand for gold during the first six months of 2022 was 2,189 tons, a 12% increase in demand over the same period in 2021. Demand came primarily from gold bar and coin investors, jewelry consumers, central bank purchases to bolster currency reserves and technology manufacturing.

The average price per ounce for the period was $1,871, marking a 1% year-over-year increase. The council reported gold mine production for the period was up 3% over 2021 at 1,764 tons. For the remainder of 2022 and into 2023, the council projects flat gold demand with possible slight increases in gold mine production. The council notes that unpredictable geopolitical factors, the Ukraine war for example, and likelihood of global economic slowdown could have significant near-term impact on gold demand and prices.

OK Stone’s licensed Bioquartz® manufacturing technology, which has been under development for a decade, will provide a significant competitive advantage in the market by solving the most frustrating problems faced by customers. Breton, based in Italy, is the definitive international leader in designing and developing engineered stone production plants, with more than 95% of global market share.

This next-gen manufacturing technology will allow OK Stone to source a more reliable and less expensive supply of domestic raw materials, replacing variable supplies from Asia. It also reduces costs by more than 10% while producing quartz slabs with an unlimited range of aesthetic effects that older manufacturing technologies cannot replicate.

Importantly, the Bioquartz® process eliminates the risk that workers can develop silicosis, an incurable lung disease caused by inhaling crystalline silica particles. Expected new government regulations to prevent silicosis are likely to impact other U.S. manufacturers. The company’s expected regulatory compliance, as well as its avoidance of international shipping costs for raw materials – which have been unstable since 2021 – are among the factors likely to provide OK Stone with major competitive advantages in the market.

The company will sell its factory output through the existing network of stone distributors that supply the building and construction industry.

According to a report by Allied Market Research, a research, consulting and advisory firm, the global engineered stone market was valued at $21.1 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $35.1 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of greater than 5% for the forecast period.

Engineered stone is used in a number of applications in the construction industry, including countertops, flooring and wall tiles, fireplaces and more. The report states that rapid expansion in construction is boosting the global demand for engineered stone.
