Mind Medicine Inc. (MNMD)

QualityStocks, InvestorPlace, Schaeffer's, The Wealth Report, The Street, MarketBeat, The Stock Dork, MarketClub Analysis, Daily Trade Alert and Trades Of The Day reported earlier on Mind Medicine Inc. (MNMD), and today we highlight the Company, here at the QualityStocks Daily Newsletter.

A recent report from The Wall Street Journal has revealed that billionaire and Twitter CEO Elon Musk uses ketamine to alleviate depression.

Ketamine started as a dissociative anesthetic in the 1970s before people discovered that it also reduced depressive symptoms and suicidal thoughts. It induces a “dissociative experience,” or trip that can involve feelings of euphoria, sensory or visual distortions, temporary unusual beliefs and thoughts, and feelings of unreality for about two hours.

Like some other psychedelics, ketamine has seen a surge in scientific and public interest in recent years due to its purported mental health benefits.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Elon Musk is one of the growing number of people who are microdosing psychedelics to combat a variety of mental health issues. WSJ says that accounts of ketamine use by the Neuralink and Tesla CEO come from people who have seen him use the psychedelic and others with “direct knowledge of his use.”

Musk apparently uses small doses of ketamine to combat depression and ramps up to higher doses that induce psychedelic-like experiences ahead of social events.

Although Musk didn’t respond to requests for a comment, he later tweeted that he believes ketamine is “occasionally a better option” for addressing depression compared to conventional antidepressants that are “zombifying people.” He claimed that “depression is over diagnosed’” in America and is often an issue of brain chemistry for some people.

Controlled studies have found that ketamine can deliver encouraging results against treatment-resistant depression. A recent paper published in the “New England Journal of Medicinefound that 55% of 403 patients reported “sustained improvement” in depression symptoms after ketamine treatment without any significant side effects.

The FDA has already approved the use of a nasal ketamine spray called Spravato for adults who are suffering from major depressive disorder, have suicidal thoughts or have failed to respond to antidepressants. Treatment typically involves taking antidepressants alongside the ketamine nasal spray at a doctor’s office under the care of a licensed and trained provider.

The two-hour long trip, or dissociative experience, is then followed by a talk therapy session to help the patient integrate any insights or realizations they may have made during the trip into their life.

Doctors do not recommend recreational ketamine use as it can cause side effects such as high blood pressure, unconsciousness, slowed breathing, kidney problems and kidney ulcers.  Due to the risk of adverse side effects, Spravato is only available to approved patients through a restricted system.

Many companies such as Mind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: MNMD) (NEO: MMED) (DE: MMQ) are also conducting drug-development programs so that more approved psychedelics-based treatments can become available to the patients who need them.

Mind Medicine Inc. (MNMD), closed Friday's trading session at $3.74, up 5.0562%, on 624,740 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 2.326M and the stock's 52-week low/high is $2.12/$19.95.

If the world stays true to its green-energy and anticlimate-change agenda, coal use will inevitably die out. Several countries around the world are already taking steps to reduce their coal use in favor of cleaner forms of energy. In the United States alone, 173 coal-fired power plants in 33 states are slated to shut down by 2030 with another 55 plants scheduled to close from 2031 to 2040.

However, decommissioned coal power plants may still serve a purpose even if their days of generating power on the grid are over. Since most of these power stations are still tied to the grid, they could help accelerate the switch to renewables.

For instance, the Homer City Generating Station in Pennsylvania is linked to New York’s power grid and America’s largest regional power grid. Although the station recently shut down production, its links to the grid still remain and could be used to speed up the rollout of renewables.

Rather than build new infrastructure from the ground up, experts believe that redeveloping decommissioned coal power plants could help accelerate the deployment of low-carbon and renewable energy projects. Reusing the existing connections and links could also reduce costs and help energy providers optimize their operations.

Katie Signer, a carbon-free electricity team manager at energy research company RMI, says that using old coal power plants could allow grid operators to deploy renewable energy potentially years earlier. Observers note that repurposing old coal plants for clean energy could also result in local benefits, such as retaining jobs and tax revenue in the local community.

Communities would be much less opposed to the closure of coal plants if new green-energy projects can immediately absorb the workforce.

With the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act providing tax credits for green-energy projects built near decommissioned coal plants and mines, there is plenty of incentive to begin repurposing former coal plants for renewable energy. However, this will likely depend on how PJM Interconnection LLC, which has grids stretching from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic, will rule on grid connections at old coal power plants.

PJM’s decision will likely affect how fast new renewable energy projects come online, where they will be built and the total cost.

Some observers say new projects should be allowed to go around PJM’s connection process because it would allow them to deploy with limited upgrades and investment.

Leveraging decommissioned coal plants could help speed up the transition to clean energy and invigorate the global fight against climate change. Could leading coal producers such as Peabody Energy Corporation (NYSE: BTU) consider this approach to transitioning away from coal? Only time will tell.

Peabody Energy Corporation (BTU), closed Friday's trading session at $21.84, up 2.391%, on 2,326,497 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 341,835 and the stock's 52-week low/high is $17.71/$32.89.

McEwen Mining Inc. (NYSE: MUX) (TSX: MUX) is an asset rich diversified gold and silver producer in the Americas and has a large exposure to copper through its subsidiary, McEwen Copper, owner of the Los Azules copper deposit in Argentina, believed to be the 9th largest undeveloped copper resource in the world.

Led by a management team with a track record of success, MUX owns and operates mines in some of the most prolific gold producing regions in the Americas. In recent months, the company has undertaken strong actions to lower production costs and increase production across its portfolio of gold assets, driving some costs below the industry average. Gold and copper prices are forecast to enter a major uptrend over the next couple years. McEwen Mining is laying the groundwork to capitalize on this opportunity now.

Seldom is management so aligned with investors’ interests with a commitment to the company’s success. CEO Rob McEwen maintains a 17% ownership stake in McEwen Mining and a 13.8% ownership in McEwen Copper with a combined cost base of roughly $220 million. McEwen founded Goldcorp, where he took the company from a market capitalization of $50 million to over $8 billion, and that same vision led MUX to create McEwen Copper.

For McEwen Mining shareholders, the company’s 51.9% stake in McEwen Copper is expected to be a gamechanger, turbocharging MUX by creating the world’s next copper unicorn.

McEwen Copper

Most mined copper is currently used in infrastructure, with new critical demand emerging for use in the electrification of transportation and the global energy transformation. The price of copper rose from a low of about $2 per pound two years ago to over $4 per pound today, and strong demand is expected to continue to soar. A study by S&P Global, titled The Future of Copper: Will the Looming Supply Gap Short-circuit the Energy Transition?, projects global copper demand to nearly double over the next decade, from 25 million metric tons today to about 50 million metric tons by 2035. Based on current trends, S&P Global projects annual supply shortfalls to reach nearly 10 million metric tons in 2035.

McEwen Mining is a 51.9% shareholder in McEwen Copper, holder of a 100% interest in the Los Azules copper project in San Juan, Argentina, which was ranked the 9th largest undeveloped copper deposit in the world by Mining Intelligence (2022). Its current copper resources are estimated at 10.2 billion pounds at a grade of 0.48% Cu (Indicated category) and an additional 19.3 billion pounds at a grade of 0.33% Cu (Inferred category). McEwen Copper also owns a copper exploration project in Nevada, called Elder Creek.

In a 2017 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), Los Azules was estimated to have a 36-year life, but indications are that the project could ultimately become an even larger mine, with a longer life, since in the assessment, only 55% of the known copper resources are to be mined. Numerous drill holes have shown strong copper mineralization extending below the PEA pit bottom. Its average annual production for its first 13 years was pegged at 415 million pounds of copper in the 2017 PEA – enough copper to supply 2.2 million electric vehicles per year.

In August 2022, McEwen Copper closed its non-brokered, private placement offering of $82 million, after securing a $25 million investment from mining giant Rio Tinto’s technology arm, Nuton LLC. In February 2023, Nuton agreed to invest an additional $30 million into McEwen Copper. Its current stake in the copper subsidiary is 14.2%.

“We are extremely pleased to have Nuton’s strong continued participation in McEwen Copper,” Rob McEwen stated in a news release. “Together we are exploring new technologies that save energy, water, time and capital in the pursuit of delivering green copper to Argentina and the world, a product that will contribute to the electrification of transportation and the protection of our atmosphere.”

Also in February 2023, FCA Argentina S.A., a subsidiary of Stellantis N.V., one of the world’s leading automakers, invested ARS $30 billion in McEwen Copper to advance development of the Los Azules copper project and for general corporate purposes. Its current stake in McEwen Copper is 14.2%.

“We are delighted to have Stellantis as a partner in the future development of our Los Azules copper project,” Rob McEwen said of the investment. “Together, we share a vision to build a mine for the future based on regenerative principles that can achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2038.”

Another of Rio Tinto’s subsidiaries, Kennecott Exploration, signed an option to earn a 60% interest in McEwen Copper’s other copper project, Elder Creek, by spending $18 million on exploration. The Elder Creek project is prospective for porphyry copper and gold mineralization and is well situated in a district hosting several large copper and gold mines, including Marigold, Lone Tree and Phoenix. Kennecott Exploration will be the operator of the exploration program. McEwen Mining holds a 1.25% net smelter return (NSR) royalty on the Elder Creek property.

Following the capital raise, McEwen Copper is well-funded to advance its Los Azules Project. Publication of an updated PEA on the Los Azules copper project is planned for Q2 2023. A Feasibility Study and IPO are planned for 2024. MUX is strategically reducing its interest to increase its treasury, in order to reduce debt and fund the further development of its gold and silver mines. In May 2023, the company decreased its senior secured debt by $25 million through the secondary sale of McEwen Copper shares.

When McEwen Copper’s Los Azules copper project is compared with other recent transactions and market valuations of copper projects in the same region, it appears very undervalued.

MUX’s management believes its ownership stake in McEwen Copper is not currently reflected in the share price of the company. In fact, it is management’s belief that the combined value of its 51.9% interest in McEwen Copper, plus its gold mines and portfolio of mineral royalties, represents a share value ranging from a low of $8 to a high of $34 per share, as detailed in the company’s latest corporate presentation.

Gold & Silver Projects

The Fox Complex

McEwen Mining owns a 100% stake in the Fox Complex in the heart of a prolific gold district in Timmins, Canada.

“When MUX bought the Fox Complex, in late 2017, it was a distressed asset with a history of high operating cost/oz. While it has taken longer than I expected, the cost to produce an ounce of gold is significantly lower,” CEO Rob McEwen stated in a news release.

In Q1 2023, McEwen Mining reported cash cost/oz at the Fox Complex of $1,088 on quarterly production of 12,700 GEOs. This was in line with the company’s guidance and marked a significant improvement from Q1 2022, when the mine struggled with effects of the pandemic and equipment failures.

Located in one of the most prolific gold production areas in the world, along the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, the Fox Complex includes the Black Fox mine and Froome mine which together have, so far, produced in excess of 1,000,000 ounces of gold. Also, it includes the Grey Fox and Stock deposits that have an estimated additional 1,600,000 ounces in reserves and resources. The 2.7-billion-year-old Abitibi Greenstone Belt, formed by ancient volcanic activity, has proved to be one of the world’s richest and most abundant gold regions, boasting total gold content of over 300 million ounces.

Full year 2023 guidance for The Fox Complex puts production estimates at 45,000 GEOs, 28% of MUX’s total production.

The Gold Bar Mine

McEwen Mining owns a 100% stake in the Gold Bar mine located in an area well known for gold production, the southern Roberts Mountains of the Battle Mountain-Eureka-Cortez gold trend in Eureka County, Central Nevada. The Gold Bar mine is on the same geological structure some 25 miles south of Nevada Gold Mines, a joint venture of Barrick and Newmont. This Cortez-Goldrush complex contains estimated reserves and resources of greater than 50 million gold ounces. Its annual gold production is 1,000,000 ounces.

Gold Bar had been previously mined, between 1991 and 1994, producing 134,000 gold ounces. MUX built a new facility in 2019. The open pit mine was expected to be a large contributor to MUX’s revenue and gold production, however operating challenges arose that reduced gold production and drove cost/oz unacceptably high. Mining activities have shifted recently to a nearby, satellite deposit called Gold Bar South (GBS). Going forward the expectations are higher gold production and lower operating cost/oz as a result of mining a higher ore grade (concentration of gold per ton) and having to move half the amount of material to capture an ounce of gold.

Gold Bar continued to ramp-up mining from the Gold Bar South deposit in Q1 2023, and successfully placed 15,000 contained gold ounces on the heap leach pad. Following delays due to extreme snow and rainfall, mining resumed at the site in April, which will continue to add gold inventory to the heap leach pad, contributing to the increase of production in the balance of the year.

The Gold Bar Mine will account for approximately 28% of McEwen Mining’s 2023 total attributable production, with guidance pegged at 45,000 GEOs. Most of Gold Bar production in 2023 will be from GBS.

El Gallo/Fenix

Project Fenix is the proposed redevelopment plan for McEwen Mining’s El Gallo Complex in Mexico. There is a long history of mining in this region. MUX’s involvement began in 2013 operating it as an open pit, heap leach mine which produced 281,000 gold equivalent ounces at average cash cost of $655 per ounce. However, due to the transition to deeper sulfide mineralization that is not amenable to heap leaching, mining activities ceased in the second quarter of 2018. The redevelopment envisions constructing a mill at the existing mine site that will initially reprocess the existing heap leach material then transition to open pit mining and processing the sulphide mineralization. The company recently acquired a complete process plant on very advantageous terms that has considerably reduced the projected capital requirements for the project.

CEO Rob McEwen stated in a news release, “This acquisition has made Fenix more attractive to build and could provide a new long life mine for McEwen Mining.”

The initial development approach is to build a mill to reprocess the material on the heap leach pad and produce approximately 17,000 oz of gold annually for eight years. Construction of the Fenix project is expected to be completed by early 2024.

Mine San José

McEwen Mining is a 49% owner and non-operator of the San José gold and silver mine located in Santa Cruz province, Argentina. This high-grade underground mine has been operating since 2007 and currently has an expected life of six years with a reserve grade of 342 gpt silver and 5.7 gpt gold and a resource grade of 427 gpt silver and 7.0 g/t gold.

Exploration is continuing to extend high-grade veins and discover new veins at the complex. San José’s drilling programs to define additional resources and reserves have a long history of success due to a high vein density, aided by good geophysical response from hidden veins. Drilling at the Telken target in the South of the property, and adjacent to Newmont’s Cerro Negro mine, is planned for Q3.

Production guidance for 2023 for MUX’s 49% is 70,000 GEOs, 44% of MUX’s total production. As a minority shareholder in the mine, MUX equity accounts for its investment in San Jose, and it receives 49% of the dividends from the mine’s free cash flow.

Market Outlook

Mining stocks took a beating in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that could change, as many analysts are now forecasting a gold bull market in 2023.

“The operating challenges we faced in recent years have severely damaged our credibility with our shareholders and the market. As a result, few investors have taken a close look recently at our assets,” Rob McEwen said in a news release. “If they did, I believe some would see the potential value that I see today… I believe there is considerable potential value in MUX, and that is a big reason why I have a personal financial commitment of $220 million in MUX and McEwen Copper.”

CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP).

Although cancer treatments have come quite a long way in terms of improving health outcomes and post-diagnosis expectancy rates, treatment is rarely ever pleasant. Most cancer patients who undergo treatments such as chemotherapy will experience side effects including hair loss, anemia, infections, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, bruising and bleeding. In many cases, these symptoms can be so severe that patients have to take additional steps to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy. Biochemist Liyan Zhang is working to develop a chemotherapy drug that can deliver the benefit without subjecting patients to severe side effects. Zhang notes that while chemotherapy drugs are great at eliminating cancer cells, they often kill surrounding healthy tissues as well. As part of her PhD research at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry, the biochemist and her supervisor, professor in bioinorganic chemistry Sylvestre Bonnet developed a type of chemo that doesn't have side effects. The new type of chemotherapy is based on light-switching properties and is only effective when it is exposed to visible light. Many more teams, such as the research team at CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP), are also focusing on developing better treatments targeting cancer. These efforts could yield superior treatment options that will not only give cancer patients better clinical outcomes but also result in fewer side effects.

CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP) is a clinical stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of novel treatments for primary and metastatic cancers of the brain and central nervous system.

The company was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Organ Targeted Therapeutics

The company’s lead drug candidate, Berubicin, is proposed for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (“GBM”), an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Berubicin also has potential to treat other central nervous system malignancies. Based on limited clinical data, Berubicin appears to be the first anthracycline to cross the blood brain barrier in the adult brain, and it was the subject of a successful Phase 1 study which found the MDT and produced efficacy data as well.

CNS holds a worldwide exclusive license to the Berubicin chemical compound. The company has acquired all requisite data and know-how from Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc. related to a completed Phase I clinical trial of Berubicin in malignant brain tumors. In this trial, 44% of patients experienced a statistically significant improvement in clinical benefit. In 2017, CNS entered into a collaboration and asset purchase agreement with Reata.

CNS intends to explore the potential of Berubicin to treat other diseases, including pancreatic and ovarian cancers and lymphoma. The company is also examining plans to develop combination therapies that include Berubicin.

CNS estimates that more than $25 million in private capital and grants were invested in Berubicin prior to the company’s $9.8 million IPO in November 2019.

CNS intends to submit an IND for Berubicin during the fourth quarter of 2020 and expects to commence a Phase II clinical trial of Berubicin for the treatment of GBM in the U.S. in Q1 2021. A sub-licensee partner was awarded a $6 million EU/Polish National Center for Research and Development grant to undertake a Phase II trial of Berubicin in adults and a first-ever Phase I trial in pediatric GBM patients in Poland in 2021.

The company’s second drug candidate, WP1244, is a novel DNA binding agent licensed from the MD Anderson Cancer Center. In preclinical studies, WP1244 proved to be 500-times more potent than the chemotherapeutic agent, daunorubicin, in inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. The company has entered into a sponsored research agreement with the MD Anderson Cancer Center to further the development of WP1244.

CNS Pharmaceuticals recently engaged U.S.-based Pharmaceutics International Inc. and Italian BSP Pharmaceuticals SpA for the production of the Berubicin drug product. The company has implemented a dual-track manufacturing strategy to mitigate COVID-19-related risks, diversify its supply chain and provide for localized availability of Berubicin. CNS has already completed synthesis of Berubicin’s active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and has shipped the API to both manufacturers in order to prepare an injectable form of Berubicin for clinical use.

Global Brain Tumor Therapeutics Market

The high recurrence rate of malignant brain tumors is due to reappearance of focal masses, indicating that a sub-population of tumor cells in these cancers may be insensitive to current therapies and may be responsible for reinitiating tumor growth. This necessitates the development of newer drugs in the market that demonstrate greater efficacy in treating such aggressive cancers.

A global increase in neurological disorders has placed increased attention on cancers of the brain over the past decade. Neurological disorders are becoming one of the most prevalent types of disorders, due to longer life expectancy, greater exposure to infection and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle. Because few treatments for primary and metastatic cancers of the brain exist, costs are high and have acted as a restraint for the brain tumor therapeutics market.

Despite progress in surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapeutic strategies, effective treatments for brain cancer are limited by a lack of specific therapies for the brain and the difficulty in transporting therapeutic compounds across the blood brain barrier. Therefore, there is a significant need for novel and effective therapeutic drugs and strategies that prolong survival and improve quality of life for brain tumor patients.

Several companies are making significant investments into R&D, which is expected to bring more treatment options to the market in the near future. Industry reports consistently project continued growth in the market.

One report estimates that the global brain tumor therapeutics market will reach a valuation of $2.74 billion in 2023, with the market expected to register a CAGR of 11% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2023. Another report projects that the global brain tumor therapeutics market will reach $3.4 billion by 2025, up from $2.25 billion in 2019 (http://nnw.fm/eDUjp).

Market Outlook

Fr8Tech’s established foothold in Mexico is key to its current efforts to promote sustainable growth in the cross-border shipping industry. Ongoing disruption in U.S.-Chinese trade relations have strengthened Mexico’s status as the largest trading partner of the U.S., with cross-border annual freight spending estimated at $385 billion according to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Annual domestic shipping in Mexico is estimated at $34 billion, while annual domestic shipping in the U.S. is estimated to total $732 billion.

Despite the size of this industry, fragmentation and inefficiencies prevail in the space. Thousands of legacy brokers, tens of thousands of shippers and hundreds of thousands of carriers still rely on outdated systems to arrange transport, spending hours on the phone negotiating pricing, waiting days to find trucks and drivers, preparing and printing forms, and operating without tracking or visibility. Add in cross-border complexity relating to customs and additional paperwork, and you have an industry ripe for technological disruption.

Fr8Tech’s recent revenue growth trends have highlighted the company’s efforts to capitalize on this opportunity. In 2021, Fr8Tech achieved revenues of $21.5 million, marking a year-over-year increase of 134%. The company issued revenue guidance for fiscal 2022 of $40 million in a February 9, 2022, press release, which would account for a further 86% year-over-year increase.

Despite facing financial and tax challenges, California's marijuana industry remains unparalleled as the largest cannabis market globally. According to the recent MJBizFactbook report, the state is projected to generate approximately $5.9 billion in legal medical and recreational cannabis sales in 2023. To provide perspective, this revenue could sustain the economy of a small island country. For instance, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates that Barbados's gross domestic product (GDP) will reach $6.1 billion this year. Additionally, the IMF forecasts Fiji's GDP to be approximately $5.4 billion. Given California's colossal cannabis market, its magnitude is not surprising. If California were an independent country, its GDP for 2022, totaling $3.6 trillion, would rank fifth globally, positioned between Germany and India with $4.2 trillion and $3.2 trillion, respectively. Companies such as IGC Pharma Inc. (NYSE American: IGC) that are looking to commercialize pharmaceutical-grade medicines from THC will not have to be concerned about laws surrounding interstate commerce in marijuana products because the moment a given formulation gains FDA approval, the makers are free to market it anywhere within the country.

IGC Pharma Inc. (NYSE American: IGC), through subsidiary IGC Pharma, develops, patents, and markets advanced THC-based drug formulations for the treatment of symptoms related to various diseases including but not limited to Alzheimer’s disease, Tourette syndrome, chronic pain, and pet seizures.

IGC’s leading drug candidate, IGC-AD1, has completed Phase 1 of a safety and tolerability trial and entered Phase 2 trials for treating agitation in patients with Alzheimer’s dementia, the first study in humans of a natural tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compound plus another molecule (www.clinicaltrials.gov). As of September 2022, the IGC trial is the only ongoing Phase 2 trial of a natural THC-based formulation on Alzheimer’s patients.

The company’s other drug candidate, TGR-63, is an enzyme inhibitor that has shown in preclinical trials the potential to reduce neurotoxicity in Alzheimer’s cell lines. Both drug candidates have shown their ability to ameliorate beta amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s cell lines and improve memory in Alzheimer’s mouse models. Beta amyloid plaques are a key hallmark of Alzheimer’s and an important target of Alzheimer’s pharmaceutical drug development.

Neuro Psychiatric Symptoms (NPS) are not only debilitating for Alzheimer’s patients; they also place an immense emotional burden on their caregivers. Beyond reducing symptoms, IGC-AD1’s active molecules and TGR-63 have also shown promise in preclinical trials to reduce important hallmarks of Alzheimer’s including plaques and tangles, as well as improving the treatment of memory loss.

Over the past eight years, the IGC team has amassed a deep knowledge of cannabinoid science, including extraction, isolation, purification, and development. The company’s strategy is to leverage its unique end-to-end capabilities, platform, and expertise to develop a class-leading program and bring it to market quickly and cost efficiently to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

The company also has a family of cannabidiol (CBD)-based consumer products (www.Holief.com) such as pain relief creams, pain relief gels, purpose gummies, tinctures, and capsules targeting women’s wellness, with a particular focus on premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and dysmenorrhea (period cramps). In addition, the company targets individuals that need sleep-aids with its specially formulated low melatonin cannabinoid gummies.

IGC has also introduced a low-calorie CBD- and caffeine-infused energy beverage brand (www.SundaySeltzer.com) that is currently available for purchase. The company’s brands are founded on the belief that effective natural solutions should be affordable and accessible to everyone. As the demand for natural products targeting women’s wellness and energy drinks continue to grow, these products are seeing strong traction in the market.

The company operates three facilities – a large GMP (Good Manufacturing Production Standards) certified facility that includes extraction, distillation, and manufacturing, in Washington State; a GMP-211 (pharmaceutical) grade facility in Maryland; and a facility licensed for controlled substances including cannabis in Bogota, Colombia, with complete access to legal licensed cannabis where the company conducts its testing.

In addition, the company’s development under Magistral Formulations is approved by INVIMA (Colombia National Food and Drug Surveillance Institute) to treat neurological disorders, non-oncological chronic pain, and mental disorders.

IGC’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio comprises of eight patents that it controls and seven patent applications. The portfolio includes #11,446,276, a patent for extreme low dose THC treatment of Alzheimer’s that was granted in September 2022.

The company is headquartered in Potomac, Maryland.

IGC-AD1

IGC-AD1 is the company’s leading drug candidate for the treatment and relief of Alzheimer’s symptoms. A significant amount of research on Alzheimer’s cell lines has shown that the active agents in IGC-AD1 reduce plaques and neurofibrillary tangles that are the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s. Further, micro-dosing of THC, as shown in cell lines, could increase the functioning of mitochondria and potentially promote the growth of new neural pathways (neurogenesis). The research shows that micro-dosing of THC affects the brain radically differently from the normal higher dosing of THC.

While there is a significant body of research showing that THC is neuro-toxic at normal levels of dosing, micro-dosing of THC has been shown to be non-toxic to neurons. With the results of these preclinical studies, the company developed an oral formulation, IGC-AD1. The company recently completed a safety and tolerability Phase 1 trial on Alzheimer’s patients and has initiated a Phase 2, multi-site, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial of the safety and efficacy of IGC-AD1 on agitation in participants with dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease at sites in the U.S. and Canada. IGC expects the Phase 2 trial to take between 9 and 12 months to complete, barring unknown factors such as, for example, a resurgence of COVID and the enforcement of lockdowns and travel restrictions.

With further successful trials and FDA approvals, IGC hopes to bring a drug based on natural THC as an effective treatment for agitation in Alzheimer’s to market.

TGR-63

The company’s other molecule, TGR-63, has been shown to reduce the neurotoxicity that impacts memory loss in preclinical trials with mice. On a dose dependent manner, transgenic Alzheimer’s mice treated with TGR-63 showed improvement in memory relative to control.

Both drug candidates, IGC-AD1 and TGR-63, have shown their ability to reduce the brain plaques associated with memory loss in Alzheimer’s in mice.

With further successful trials and FDA approvals, IGC hopes to bring TGR-63 as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease to market.

Market Opportunity

Alzheimer’s disease impacts over 55 million people worldwide and about 5.5 million individuals in the U.S. Over 70% of these patients face debilitating symptoms, including anxiety, depression, and agitation (Mendez, 2021). Agitation in dementia patients can include excessive physical movement and verbal activity, restlessness, pacing, belligerence, aggression, screaming, crying, and wandering.

In 2020, the estimated healthcare costs for Alzheimer’s disease in the U.S. were $305 billion. Medicare and Medicaid covered about 70% of those costs, leaving considerable burden on patients and families. At the current rate of growth of Alzheimer’s and other dementia diagnoses, those costs are estimated to reach over $1 trillion by 2050.

Currently, there are no FDA-approved medications to alleviate the symptoms of dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease, providing a tremendous opportunity for formulations that can have an impact on quality of life and disease progression.

Reunion Gold Corp. (TSX.V: RGD) (OTCQX: RGDFF)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Reunion Gold Corp. (TSX.V: RGD) (OTCQX: RGDFF) .

Reunion Gold is a leading gold explorer in South America's Guiana Shield, a highly prospective and relatively underexplored region.

The company's Oko West Project in Guyana comprises a prospecting license with an area of approximately 44 square kilometers and is 100% held by Reunion through its local subsidiary.

Guyana is recognized as a mining-friendly jurisdiction and in 2022 its ranking by the Fraser Institute ranking of mining investment attractivenessd increased to 22nd ranked areas in the world and the top country in south America.

The company's leadership boasts over 225 years of combined experience in the Guiana Shield.

On June 13 after only 22 months of drilling at Oko West Kairuni zone, Reunion Gold released a significant and high quality initial mineral resource estimate of 2.47 Moz of indicated Au grading 1.84 g/t and 1.762 Moz of inferred resources grading 2.02 g/t

The company's strategy is to advance Oko west using a dual track approach to moving the project forward: 1) Advance development of the Kairuni zone forward rapidly by completing a PEA, targeted for year end 2) Continuing an aggressive exploration program focused on expanding the maiden resource, which remains open and exploring the two highly prospective targets outside of the Kairuni zone MRE area. These targets include the Takutu zone which represents the 4km of the same geological contact and structure that hosts the Kairuni resource and also the Bryan zone which represents the western portion of the property which displays a combination of gold in soil geochemical anomalies and historic alluvial gold mining operations downstream of the area.

Reunion Gold Corp. (TSX.V: RGD) (OTCQX: RGDFF) is a leading gold explorer in the Guiana Shield, South America. In early 2021, the Company announced an exciting new greenfield gold discovery at its Oko West project in Guyana, where, after 22 months of resource definition drilling, the Company has announced an initial Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) containing 2.475 Moz of gold in Indicated resources at 1.84 g/t and 1.762 Moz of gold in inferred resources at 2.02 g/t contained within a pit shell outline. Preliminary metallurgy results performed by the company, consisting of 8 bottle roll tests obtained strong results, averaging just under 90% recoveries on average. The Company is continuing with additional development activities at Oko West, including environmental base line studies and additional metallurgical work relating to the delivery of a PEA by year end 2023. In addition, Reunion Gold is currently exploring several priority targets in the Oko West project area on which the company feels there is good potential to add additional resource ounces. This includes the opportunity to grow the initial mineral resource estimate (MRE) released on June 13, 2023, and to discover additional gold ounces at Oko West outside of the resource area.

The Guiana Shield remains one of the most prospective exploration locations globally for the discovery of world class orogenic gold deposits. The shield, including both Guyana and Surinam, contain large relatively underexplored greenstone belts, from which Reunion Gold expects many more significant gold discoveries could emerge in the coming years.

Oko West Project

Reunion Gold’s Oko West Project is a brand-new gold discovery in northwest Guyana located within the historical Oko gold district. Alluvial gold has been mined from the Oko district since the turn of the century, but very little primary gold has been mined or even explored for to the best of the company’s knowledge. The project comprises a prospecting license with an area of approximately 44 square kilometers and is 100% held by Reunion’s Guyanese subsidiary.

In 2020, Reunion Gold’s geochemical survey, trenching and initial 1000 m drill program discovered and confirmed the presence of gold mineralization in this Orogenic gold system. The gold occurs in the eastern edge of the project area, along a 6km long sheared contact between a granitoid intrusion and a meta volcanic-meta sedimentary rock package. The MRE is located within the Kairuni zone, which represents the northern most 1.9 km of the 6 km long contact.

“We are advancing our Oko West project along two tracks. The first is to advance the exploration programs outside of the Kairuni zone, aimed at outlining and discovering additional gold mineralization within our Prospecting License. On this front, I am very excited by the results from the initial Scout RC Geochem drill program that is defining new targets west of our Kairuni zone,” Rick Howes, President and CEO of Reunion Gold, stated in a recent news release. In addition to the targets west of the Kairuni zone, the company has also commenced exploration work on the southern ~ 4 km of the same sheared contact that hosts the Kairuni zone MRE. In addition, the company feels that the MRE marks the size of the Kairuni resource at a point in time and that there is good potential to continue to grow the resource. The MRE remains open at depth below the resource pit outline in the block 4 area and also to depth and along strike in the block 5 and 6 areas. In addition to the exploration programs, the second strategic track is to rapidly advance the Kairuni zone along the path to development. To that end the company is moving forward with the engineering and other studies, including more detailed metallurgical studies, that will support the release a PEA on the Kairuni zone by year end 2023 The company feels that the rapid advancement of development of Kairuni zone MRE, while in parallel continuing to explore for additional ounces on the project, is the best path to try and maximize shareholder value in the shortest period of time.

Guyana

Guyana boasts a long history of mining gold, bauxite, diamonds and manganese. Still, the greenstone belts of the Guiana Shield remain relatively unexplored when compared to the analogous regions of the West African Shield (Birimian), which, according to geological evidence, was once connected to the Guiana Shield, forming a contiguous craton prior to the Mesozoic period.

Despite a historical lack of accessibility and low exploration intensity, several significant large-scale projects have emerged in the Guiana Shield, including Aurora, Oko West, Oko Main, Toroparu and Omai. Guyana is English speaking with a British based parliamentary and legal system and boasts the world’s fastest growing economy on the back of significant offshore oil discoveries by Exxon and its partners. It is expected that a significant amount of the revenues from oil production will be invested in improving the infrastructure, education and health care and agriculture within the country.

Market Opportunity

The World Gold Council, an industry association representing gold producers with hundreds of mining operations in nearly 50 countries around the world, called 2022 the “strongest year for gold demand in over a decade.” Annual gold demand jumped 18% YoY due to “colossal central bank purchases, aided by vigorous retail investor buying and slower ETF outflows.”

Despite this spike in demand, total annual gold supply increased by just 2% in 2022, halting two years of successive declines but failing to challenge 2018 highs. This supply-demand imbalance could provide a favorable market environment as Reunion Gold continues to advance drilling programs at its 100%-owned Oko West Project.

Management Team

Successful exploration and the discovery of significant deposits in any given region require immense amounts of local knowledge and experience. This is the principle around which Reunion Gold has built its management team. In total, the company’s leadership boasts over 225 years of combined experience in the Guiana Shield.

David Fennell is the Executive Chairman of Reunion Gold, a position he has held since the company’s inception in 2003. He has 40 years of experience in the mining industry. Advanced Container Technologies Inc. (OTC: ACTX)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Advanced Container Technologies Inc. (OTC: ACTX).

Last week, Italian lawmakers presented proposals aimed at regulating Italy's booming low-THC cannabis industry. Dubbed "cannabis light," Italy's industry is now home to multitudes of retail outlets selling cannabis with low levels of THC. Although legislators didn't initially set out to legalize recreational cannabis, a measure meant to legalize industrial hemp, a type of cannabis that has little to no THC, opened a loophole that allowed the cannabis light sector to take root. The government is now working to regulate the sector. On June 20, 2023, Italian Prime Minister Gorgia Meloni proposed amending tobacco legislation and extending it to cover low-THC hemp flower as well. Meloni's proposal would have laid out a tax framework for low-THC hemp and created an authorization system via the Customs and Monopolies Agency (DM). However, a day after the recently instated prime minister tabled the proposed amendment, the government withdrew the proposal. Industry sources and local media still believe that lawmakers will soon reintroduce the proposed amendments in another bill. Implementing effective strategies to contain the black market isn't only beneficial to enterprises that directly deal in marijuana. Others, such as Advanced Container Technologies Inc. (OTC: ACTX), may also see an uptick in business if all industry players are adhering to the same rules or standards.

Advanced Container Technologies Inc. (OTC: ACTX) is in the business of selling and distributing self-contained, automated, indoor “micro-farms” called Grow Pods, along with related equipment and supplies. Additionally, the company designs and sells patented proprietary medical-grade plastic containers, known as the Medtainer®, that store and grind pharmaceuticals, herbs, teas and other solids or liquids.

ACTX is the leading distributor of Grow Pods. With a controlled environment, food and herbs can be grown without pesticides, harmful chemicals or risk of pathogen contamination, and with low energy consumption. Restaurants, grocery stores, non-profits, MSOs and entrepreneurs can use Grow Pods to ensure a fresh supply of ultra-clean produce year-round.

The company entered the Grow Pod business in October 2020 with its acquisition of all shares of Advanced Container Technologies Inc., a California corporation. As of February 28, 2022, ACTX is exploring the acquisition of the assets and the assumption of some or all of the liabilities of GP Solutions Inc., the developer and manufacturer of Grow Pods, for which ACTX is currently the sole U.S. distributor.

Because Grow Pods can be located almost anywhere, produce can be grown closer to the point of consumption and harvested at its peak, providing nutritious fruits and vegetables where needed. Indoor micro-farms, utilizing a practice known as vertical farming, have attracted the attention of governments and universities, which are now promoting vertical farming as a way to combat food insecurity and inequities.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has stated that vertical farming “is no longer a futuristic concept.” The department is enthusiastic about vertical farming, particularly those utilizing repurposed shipping containers, such as Grow Pods. Arizona State University reports that vertical farming reduces water use by 90 percent compared to conventional farming but produces 10 times the crop yield.

Products

Grow Pods

One of the company’s main business units is focused on selling advanced, self-contained hydroponic containers called Grow Pods. These unique and innovative automated systems are essentially micro-farms that can be placed virtually anywhere and, with their controlled and specially filtered environment, allow cultivation of a wide variety of crops, 365 days a year. The Grow Pod controlled environment offers major advantages for the production of high-value crops. The ability to grow year-round and the ability to cultivate in a smaller footprint using less water and power are some of the primary advantages of the system. Grow Pods offer constant temperature, humidity and airflow control, as well as automated watering and lighting schedules for optimal growth and minimal labor requirements, regardless of crop.

Containers

ACTX meets the needs of the pharmaceutical and medical markets, including the cannabis and hemp industries, with patented packaging systems. The company designs, customizes, brands and sells proprietary medical grade plastic containers that can store pharmaceuticals, herbs, teas and other solids or liquids, with a special built-in feature that can grind solids and shred herbs. The company’s flagship container product is the patented Medtainer®, a child resistant, medical-grade herb container and grinder that is water-tight, air-tight and smell proof. Packaging in the cannabis industry is critical, with numerous stringent regulations about how cannabis products must be packaged and labeled. ACTX also offers custom-branded, compliant vacuum seal bags and other retail container solutions.

Equipment and Supplies

ACTX markets and sells two principal products: Grow Pods, which are specially modified insulated shipping containers manufactured by GP Solutions Inc., in which plants, herbs and spices may be grown hydroponically in a controlled environment, and Medtainers®, which may be used to store pharmaceuticals, herbs, teas and other solids or liquids and can grind solids and shred herbs. The company also markets and sells various products related to Grow Pods and the Medtainer®, as well as providing private labeling and branding services for purchasers of Medtainers® and certain related products.

GP Solutions manufactures and sells other products, such as humidity controllers and LED lighting systems for vertical farming. The company’s specially designed lighting panels are programmed to emit the exact wavelength of light that each crop requires. The system has a daybreak-to-nightfall feature that gives plants the proper chromatic signals to grow rapidly and fruitfully. High efficiency LED light strips supply the crops with a red and blue light spectrum required for photosynthesis in the spectrum that plants need most.

Market Overview

The global vertical farming market is expected to reach $33.02 billion by 2030, according to a new report by Grand View Research. The market is forecast to expand at a CAGR of 25.5 percent from 2022 to 2030, according to Grand View. Escalating production of biopharmaceutical products, including cannabis, is anticipated to drive the market. The building-based segment of the market is expected to register a significant CAGR of 27.8 percent over the projected period. In addition, the climate control segment is expected to see high growth.

The global cannabis packaging market is expected to reach $14.34 billion by 2028, according to analysis by Reports and Data. The analysis forecasts 1,700 percent growth in cannabis users by the end of 2026, with packaging likely observing a whopping 26.42 percent growth in the forecast period. There are significant barriers to entry in the cannabis packaging market, giving an advantage to companies already established in the sector. These barriers include developing a thorough knowledge of the myriad regulations that govern cannabis packaging (which differ in each state), and child-resistance requirements.

CISO Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CISO)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight CISO Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CISO).

CISO Global Inc. (NASDAQ: CISO), an industry leader in managed cybersecurity and compliance services, works closely with companies to provide essential protection. "Complying with security requirements should be about more than just ticking off mandatory checkboxes," a recent article quotes CISO Global CEO David Jemmett, and includes excerpts from his guest essay for The Last Watchdog. "The importance of compliance is clear to see," he writes. "In spite of this, many organizations today still see compliance as a nuisance, rather than a business enabler. All too often, organizations will analyze compliance requirements and harden their systems and practices to meet them, without really thinking about their importance to the business. Instead, they will tick the mandatory checkboxes, even if security measures haven't been enacted, and file the record away as quickly as possible. This approach is dangerous," explains Jemmett, noting that single ‘point-in-time' compliance doesn't cut it in today's threat landscape. "Compliance is no longer a ‘set and forget' security framework. To keep up to speed in today's evolving threat landscape, compliance is a process that must be maintained continuously."

An expected increase in cybercrime, cost effectiveness of provided solutions and stringent mandatory government regulations aimed at protecting corporate data will drive the global managed security services market for the foreseeable future.

In addition, the documented and growing use of mobile devices in the workplace and the rise in captured and stored digital data serve to fuel market growth. Moreover, growing awareness about the critical nature of data security, the growing importance of e-business and demand for customized services is expected to offer ample opportunities for expansion of the market during the forecast period.

First Tellurium Corp. (CSE: FTEL) (OTCQB: FSTTF)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight First Tellurium Corp. (CSE: FTEL) (OTCQB: FSTTF) .

First Tellurium Corp. (CSE: FTEL) (OTCQB: FSTTF) is committed to exploring for and providing essential and critical metals, including tellurium, gold, silver, copper and tungsten, for North American markets. This objective is anchored by the company’s Deer Horn tellurium-gold-silver-copper project in British Columbia, Canada, and further enhanced by its property option on the Klondike tellurium-gold prospect located in Colorado, USA.

First Tellurium’s unique business model is to generate revenue and value through mineral discovery, project development, project generation and cooperative access to untapped mineral regions in indigenous territory with sustainable exploration potential.

Through its exploration and partnerships with Fenix Advanced Materials, Cheona Metals and IRMA, First Tellurium strives to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return. The company conducts a diversified search for metals, working in alliance with indigenous peoples, NGOs, governments and leading metals buyers. First Tellurium believes this is the future of mineral exploration — generating revenue by exploring responsibly and leveraging diverse partnerships.

First Tellurium proudly adheres to, and supports, the principles and rights set out in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and, in particular, the fundamental proposition of free, prior and informed consent.

The company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Projects

Deer Horn Tellurium-Gold-Silver-Copper Project

Deer Horn is located on 51.33 square kilometers (km) in west-central British Columbia, 36 km south of the prolific Huckleberry copper-molybdenum mine and 135 km southwest of the community of Burns Lake. It is one of few significant tellurium discoveries outside Asia and includes a 2.4 km-long vein system of high-grade gold, silver and tellurium, as well as broader zones of bulk-tonnage gold, silver and tellurium mineralization. The company completed a positive Preliminary Economic Estimate and has began permitting for a 10,000-tonne bulk sample program to advance the project toward mine feasibility. It is North America’s only silver-gold-tellurium property with an NI 43-101 compliant tellurium resource, and it hosts a number of other mineralized targets and zone containing critical metals such as copper, tungsten and zinc.

First Tellurium owns 50% of the property, with an option to acquire up to a 75% interest. The company has engaged Dias Geophysical of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to conduct induced polarization (IP) geophysics on the Deer Horn Project in summer 2023. The program is designed to help develop drill targets for a subsequent drilling program.

Klondike Gold-Tellurium Project

The Klondike property is located in Saguache County, Colorado, southwest of Buena Vista in the state’s historical mining district. The company reports it has engaged Burgex Mining Consultants of Sandy, Utah, to stake additional claims around the Klondike property. The claims have been filed with the Bureau of Land Management.

Klondike demonstrates exceptional tellurium grades. Tellurium, used in high-efficiency cadmium telluride (Cd-Te) solar panels, next-generation lithium-ion batteries and thermoelectric devices to change heat into energy, is an essential element for the world’s transition to green energy.

The Klondike property was a top tellurium prospect owned previously by First Solar Inc., one of the world’s largest solar panel producers. First Solar terminated its worldwide raw materials exploration program in 2012 and sold the property to Colorado Klondike LLC, which optioned the project to First Tellurium. Colorado Klondike, led by First Solar’s former Exploration Manager in North America, is managing the upcoming exploration program.

The Colorado Geological Survey (CGS), in partnership with the Colorado School of Mines, reported on First Solar’s exploration at Klondike in 2015, noting: “Surface sampling by First Solar, Inc. in 2006 found very high tellurium grades of up to 3.3% (33,000 ppm), along with locally high gold grades. Tellurium grades at Klondike were the highest encountered in the company’s nationwide exploration program.”

Market Outlook

First Tellurium in spring 2023 referenced recent forecasts by the International Energy Agency (IEA) pointing to rapid growth in solar photovoltaic (solar PV) deployment worldwide. According to the agency, solar PV installations will generate more power by 2027 than any other energy source, including coal, natural gas and hydro. To meet this demand, consumption of both silver and tellurium, key components of solar panels, is expected to surge in coming years.

Chen Lin, founder of Lin Asset Management, has written in his investment newsletter for clients that solar PV is now the largest industrial usage of silver. He said that in 2022 solar PV production used about 12% of total silver demand, or about 120 million ounces of silver. Lin expects this number to rise dramatically in the coming years, and that is likely to lead to silver supply deficits for decades to come.

Lin points out that solar power is now the cheapest source of energy in many parts of the world and that all forecasts point to dramatic expansion of solar PV in the coming two decades. Conservative estimates forecast 300 gigawatts of solar PV production by 2027, up from the current level of about 200 gigawatts.

From 2012 to 2018, he was Director and Chairman of Mason Graphite Inc. He has worked in the financial and minerals markets for more than 30 years.

Sharing Services Global Corporation (SHRG)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Sharing Services Global Corporation (SHRG).

Sharing Services Global Corporation (SHRG), formerly Sharing Services Inc., is a diversified company dedicated to maximizing shareholder value, operating through two primary subsidiaries: Elepreneurs Holdings, a direct-selling company, and Elevacity Holdings, a products company. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, SHRG markets and distributes Elevate-branded health and wellness products through an independent sales force of distributors called Elepreneurs.

Proprietary Products

SHRG’s current exclusive Elevate product offerings are marketed under the Elevacity brand, so named to signify the company’s commitment to elevating lives.

The Elevate health and wellness product line consists of nutraceutical products that SHRG refers to as D.O.S.E., which stands for dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins – all of which are key hormones proven to promote happiness and well-being.

Elevacity brand products are carefully formulated, chosen and designed to support a single objective: elevate the happiness and well-being of the consumer.

Global Network of Elepreneurs

Elevacity products are shared and sold by a growing international network of home-based entrepreneurs, called Elepreneurs, operated by Elepreneurs Holdings. This SHRG subsidiary provides basic and advanced programs for both new and experienced entrepreneurs who are focusing on their direct-sales careers.

SHRG’s high-performing independent sales force follows the company’s Blue Ocean selling strategy, an approach that encourages individuals to seek new markets, lead, and to “stop competing and start creating.” The Blue Ocean strategy is based on the book, “Blue Ocean Strategy,” written by Professor Renée Mauborgne, who notes that “the lesson here is that the best defense is offense, and the best offense… is to make a blue ocean shift and create your own blue ocean.”

Following this selling strategy, SHRG’s Elepreneurs are taught that, rather than competing directly in a competitive, direct-selling market, they should focus on making competitors irrelevant and succeeding in an uncontested marketplace.

In addition, SHRG’s Elepreneurs use the interactive, video-based VERB sales-marketing platform developed by Verb Technology Company Inc. The app utilizes proprietary interactive video data collection and analysis technology and provides next-generation customer relationship management, lead generation, and video marketing software applications.

Continued Momentum as Industry Leader

These selling strategies have resulted in sharp and consistent revenue gains. In the company’s 10-Q filed with the SEC for the three months ended Oct. 31, 2019, SHRG reported sales of $38.8 million for fiscal Q2 2019, an increase of 116% over sales of $17.9 million reported for the comparable quarter of 2018. Consolidated gross profit jumped by $16.2 million to $27.4 million for the same period compared to Q2 2018.

SHRG’s consolidated operating earnings were $3.9 million in the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, 2019, compared to $866,802 for the comparable period the prior year. Consolidated gross margin also grew 70.9% for the three months ended Oct. 31, 2019, compared to 62.2% the prior year.

These numbers are continuing a trend established over the past two years. In fiscal Q1 2019, SHRG achieved revenues of $35.4 million, more than double that of the comparable period in 2018. Even earlier, the company reported sales of $85.9 million for fiscal year ended April 30, 2019. This represents a nine-fold increase, or $77.5 million jump, over the company’s revenues of $8.4 million the prior year.

These numbers bring SHRG’s sales revenues since December 2017 — when the company’s Elevate product line was released — to an impressive cumulative total of $169 million.

Preparing for Success

SHRG is well prepared to continue and accommodate for this growth. The company recently expanded its corporate footprint by moving to a 10,000-square-foot facility in Plano, Texas, that offers ample room to expand as the company grows and flourish. The larger corporate locale provides space for a growing customer service department, product fulfillment, opportunity and training rooms, as well as a video production suite.

In addition, the company has a seasoned, expert leadership team in place, led by John “JT” Thatch. Thatch was appointed president and CEO of SHRG in March 2018, bringing to the company his expertise obtained from successfully starting, owning and operating several businesses in various industries. His experience with corporate growth, acquisitions, financing and negotiation in fast-paced and flexible environments will significantly assist SHRG as the company aims to expand and increase revenues.

OK Stone Engineering Inc.

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight OK Stone Engineering Inc.

OK Stone Engineering Inc. is a Texas-based company formed to manufacture engineered quartz slabs to be used as materials for countertops and tile in the building and construction industry. The company’s manufacturing process uses next-generation technologies which reduce costs, improve the quality of the finished product and increase safety of workers in the manufacturing process.

OK Stone is the first high tech source of U.S.-made quartz stone products. The company, with joint venture partner Breton S.p.A., has announced a new factory for engineered stone in Fort Worth, Texas, to fill the massive supply gap in the U.S. market, where the domestic shortage is projected to increase to 140 million square feet annually by 2026. Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in 2024, with production projected to start in mid to late 2025 and the is facility projected to be scaling to full production in early 2026.

The factory will be the first in the U.S. to employ Breton’s Bioquartz® technology, a transformative state-of-the-art manufacturing process. There are only nine engineered stone slab manufacturers in the U.S., and seven of those are based on older Breton technology. Only OK Stone is investing in this latest technology while other manufacturing facilities risk falling behind.

Products

OK Stone’s licensed Bioquartz® manufacturing technology, which has been under development for a decade, will provide a significant competitive advantage in the market by solving the most frustrating problems faced by customers. Breton, based in Italy, is the definitive international leader in designing and developing engineered stone production plants, with more than 95% of global market share.

This next-gen manufacturing technology will allow OK Stone to source a more reliable and less expensive supply of domestic raw materials, replacing variable supplies from Asia. It also reduces costs by more than 10% while producing quartz slabs with an unlimited range of aesthetic effects that older manufacturing technologies cannot replicate.

Importantly, the Bioquartz® process eliminates the risk that workers can develop silicosis, an incurable lung disease caused by inhaling crystalline silica particles. Expected new government regulations to prevent silicosis are likely to impact other U.S. manufacturers. The company’s expected regulatory compliance, as well as its avoidance of international shipping costs for raw materials – which have been unstable since 2021 – are among the factors likely to provide OK Stone with major competitive advantages in the market.

The company will sell its factory output through the existing network of stone distributors that supply the building and construction industry.

Market Opportunity

According to a report by Allied Market Research, a research, consulting and advisory firm, the global engineered stone market was valued at $21.1 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $35.1 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of greater than 5% for the forecast period.

Engineered stone is used in a number of applications in the construction industry, including countertops, flooring and wall tiles, fireplaces and more. The report states that rapid expansion in construction is boosting the global demand for engineered stone.

Management Team

OK Stone’s management team recently designed, built and operated a Breton factory with more than $100 million in annual revenues.

The CEO of OK Stone has almost two decades of experience in the engineered stone industry. He began as a production engineer, later hired as a factory manager and eventually in the role of Managing Partner an an Industrial Investment fund, focusing on investments in engineered stone. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA.

The Chief Marketing Officer at OK Stone has more than 15 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive in the industry. He has worked for the top tier of engineered surfaces companies as well as a significant U.S.-based engineered stone company. He has recently been Sales and Marketing Director of a fully scaled Breton equipped factory, and was previously part of the founding team at a separate Breton factory, where he worked extensively in the U.S. market.

Ronald Max is COO at OK Stone. He has more than 35 years of experience in operations and finance. He has been involved in over $4 billion in real estate transactions and has extensive expertise in complicated ownership structures such as sale-leaseback financing, ground lease bifurcations and real estate securities offerings. In addition, he has experience in creating operating budgets, financial management and industrial real estate development for highly scaled enterprises.
