InvestorPlace, Schaeffer's, The Wealth Report, The Street, QualityStocks, The Stock Dork, MarketClub Analysis, MarketBeat, Daily Trade Alert and Trades Of The Day reported earlier on Mind Medicine Inc. (MNMD), and today we highlight the Company, here at the QualityStocks Daily Newsletter.

We have seen interest in psychedelics grow these last few years as societal attitudes toward the use of these drugs change and their purported benefits for mental-health conditions make headlines. While learning more about this topic and the advancements being made is interesting, it is important to learn to differentiate between good research and unreliable research.

First of all, you should examine your source. Reliable scientific research is usually published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Peer-reviewed research is usually read and criticized by qualified and independent experts. If the journal containing the study you’re reading doesn’t support peer reviewing, then chances are the information published may not be accurate or reliable.

You should also keep an eye out for any spelling or formatting mistakes and substandard websites as well as poor grammar and statements that sound too good to be true. Finding any of these is a sign that the journal in question may not be as reliable.

High-quality journals usually have good impact factors (i.e., how often the study has been cited) and are indexed in scientific databases such as PubMed. Additionally, you should look to see who the study’s authors are, where they work, their funding sources and what their disclosures are. Authors who are experts in their fields often have impressive reputations.

It should be noted, however, that just because research is done by a pioneering institution doesn’t mean it is completely accurate. If anything, these teams may be heavily biased.

Once this is done, you can examine the research itself. For clinical research, the randomized, multicenter, placebo-controlled trial is ideal. However, few psychedelic studies have reached this stage. Randomized and placebo-controlled trials refer to trials that involve participants being grouped randomly into two or more groups, one of which is treated as the control group and administered with a placebo.

Initial clinical trials usually occur in one institution. However, to be more certain about whether a particular treatment works, multicenter trials are needed. Without a control group, the effect observed once a treatment has been administered can’t be compared to determine efficacy. Additionally, without randomization, the effect observed may be biased.

Furthermore, you should look out for trials with more participants. Trials with a higher number of participants usually have more statistical power, which makes it easier to determine whether the effects observed are true.

You should keep in mind that trials usually cost a lot of money, so don’t rule out commercial trials, especially since these trials are even more regulated than the privately funded ones.

Many psychedelics startups, including Mind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: MNMD) (NEO: MMED) (DE: MMQ), are focused on taking their drug candidates through the most rigorous clinical trials so that regulatory agencies such as the FDA can approve those therapies without raising many objections.

Mind Medicine Inc. (MNMD), closed Monday's trading session at $3.31, off by 5.4286%, on 1,438,446 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 245,585 and the stock's 52-week low/high is $2.85/$44.10.

Unlike regular cars, EVs are powered by electricity, meaning they can be “refueled” right at home. In fact, 70 to 80% of electric vehicle charging occurs at home or in workplace parking lots. All electric cars come with a level-1 charging plug. This charger can be plugged into a standard outlet but will charge your EV at an incredibly low rate. On average, it will take 40 to 50 hours to charge an electric car using a level 1 charger.

Note that you will have to make sure that your home’s electric grid is up to the challenge of charging a car on top of the usual power demands. If you drive your car sporadically and for limited distances, you could make do with a level 1 charger. Mogile Technologies CEO Simon Quellette says your daily driving distance will determine if you need to upgrade to a level-2 charger. There may be little need for a level-2 charger if there are plenty of public chargers near your workplace or in your neighborhood.

But if you do want to upgrade to a level-2 charger, you will require either dedicated parking or a personal garage. Even better if your parking spot is right next to an existing power source. That’s not a necessity, however, because chargers with up to 25 feet of cable are available. EV Safe Charge founder and CEO Caradoc Ehrenhalt notes that you may not be able to install a home charger if you have a detached garage that is far from your house and is not connected to the grid.

You would have to connect the garage to the home’s electrical panel, an endeavor that may involve digging up part of the driveway to access the underground power cable. And even if your garage is attached to the home and connected to the grid, you may have to drill holes through the ceiling depending on the location of the electrical panel.

Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room: can your property’s electrical system handle the load of charging an electric car? You may need to consult a professional electrician to figure that out. Master electrician and Focus Trade Services owner Harvey Faulkner says that as a rule of thumb, electrical panels that don’t have space for additional breakers have to be upgraded to accommodate an EV.

So if your electrical panel does not have extra room for breakers, you will have to upgrade it before you can install a level-2 charger. Overall, Ehrenhalt says the average cost of installing a home charger ranges from $1,500 to $3,000. Expect these costs to increase significantly if the electrical panel or the amount of electricity supplied to your home needs to be upgraded.

As entities such as Kandi Technologies Group Inc. (NASDAQ: KNDI) bring more innovative battery pack systems onto the market, the need to frequently recharge an EV will reduce and the current demand for a lot more charging facilities will probably reduce as well.

Kandi Technologies Group Inc. (KNDI), closed Monday's trading session at $2.15, up 1.8957%, on 245,891 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 11.974M and the stock's 52-week low/high is $2.00/$5.20.

Industrial metal prices have registered a slight recovery amid a cooling in the dollar’s rally. The greenback has been on quite a roll for the past few weeks, achieving historic highs with the dollar rally sending ripples through financial markets across the world. Surging dollar prices had a dampening effect on the commodities market, unfortunately, with commodities such as precious and industrial metals, including gold, dropping by 1% to trade at $1,709 an ounce as the dollar hit a new decade high in value.

However, a slowdown in the greenback’s rally eased the cost pressure of dollar-priced commodities and allowed industrial metals to recoup some losses. Despite this, market factors may cause further disruptions in metal prices.

Efforts by the U.S. Federal Reserve and central banks around the globe to fight inflation by adopting increasingly hawkish policies have significantly increased fears of recession. This could dampen demand for industrial metals such as copper and cause their prices to fall.

On the other hand, precious metals such as gold have long been regarded as stores of value, especially during economic downturns such as the ones we are currently experiencing. The dollar, despite being a national currency, is also seen as a strong store of value. It has immense purchasing power and essentially runs the global financial market. Even as global central banks tighten their monetary policies and stoke fears of economic recession, investor appetite for the greenback will most likely remain.

TD Securities commodity strategist Ryan Mckay stated that the outlook for metals, especially base metals including aluminum, copper, tin, nickel and lead, isn’t good. He added that gold prices would certainly falter under an increasingly hawkish Fed and higher benchmark interest rates. McKay also mentioned that base metals seemed to be losing supply side support and were quite vulnerable to deteriorating demand conditions.

Metal prices at the London Metal Exchange have been mixed, with aluminum prices decreasing by 0.2% after slipping by 2.1% earlier and copper going up by 0.5% after faltering by 1.9% earlier. Gold bullion saw its prices stabilize after reaching its lowest in two years.

Gold’s status as a store of value should have made it an extremely hot commodity in the current economic atmosphere, but the metal has been impacted by the dollar’s relentless rally coupled with hawkish moves by central banks worldwide.

Currently in a bear market, gold bullion is now trading at 20% below its record-high prices from 2020 and is backed by consistent outflows from gold exchange-traded funds. It remains to be seen how long the downturn will last before companies such as Newmont Corporation (NYSE: NEM) (TSX: NGT) can again ramp up their production of the precious metal.

Newmont Corporation (NEM), closed Monday's trading session at $43.71, up 3.9971%, on 12,915,370 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 883,072 and the stock's 52-week low/high is $40.00/$86.37.

More than a decade after the introduction of Bitcoin, millions of Americans now hold some kind of digital token. Bitcoin, the largest crypto in the world, boasts more than 80 million users globally while Ethereum is poised to become just as big after the conclusion of the long-awaited ETH merge. In total, there are more than 12,000 cryptocurrencies in the world.

But despite the immense popularity of digital tokens, few standard crypto regulations exist in the United States. And since decentralized blockchain technology allows for private and secure transactions, the crypto market has unfortunately attracted plenty of criminal elements. Recent efforts to pass cryptocurrency regulations have also been unsuccessful. In California, for example, Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have created a regulatory framework for crypto regulation.

Surprisingly, news of Assembly Bill 2269’s failure was met with praise by the crypto industry. Newsom called the legislation “premature” in a memo outlining the veto decision, stating that California needed a “more flexible approach” to regulating cryptocurrency as blockchain was still young and evolving. With 71 affirmative votes, no nays and nine abstentions, the bill came with plenty of support from the legislature.

It would have required cryptocurrency companies to obtain state-approved licenses before they could operate in the state of California. However, Newsom outlined the cost of implementing the crypto bill and said that it would force the state to take millions of dollars in loans to fund the creation of a crypto regulatory framework. He also believed that passing the bill right now, while the crypto market was still in flux and hadn’t matured, would be premature.

Newsom is waiting for the federal government to solidify its stance on cryptocurrency regulation as well as for the presentation of the results of an executive order he issued in May. Dubbed executive order N-9-22, the order required that the Newsom administration research digital tokens and establish a state-based “transparent regulatory environment.”

Newsom says that it is still too early to codify a licensing structure in the statute without considering the executive order or developments at the federal level. He wasn’t the only one who wasn’t taken in by the crypto bill. A procryptocurrency technology policy coalition called Chamber for Progress that partners with FTX U.S., Circle, Meta, and Apple had reservations and asked for several revisions in June.

More specifically, the chamber didn’t want the state to ban algorithmic stablecoin licenses and asked for clarification on which cryptos would be regulated by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation.

While it would be beneficial to blockchain companies such as Canaan Inc. (NASDAQ: CAN) for a regulatory framework to exist guiding all activities within the industry, it is more important for those regulations to be well thought out so that they foster rather than hinder the growth of this nascent industry.

Canaan Inc. (CAN), closed Monday's trading session at $3.09, off by 5.7927%, on 883,570 volume. The average volume for the last 3 months is 314,509 and the stock's 52-week low/high is $2.56/$11.1899.

The company is involved in a sponsored study with Maastricht University utilizing repeated low doses of ketamine and psilocybin to examine the effects on cognitive and emotional dysfunctions in Parkinson’s disease and to understand its mechanism of action. The investigator in the Netherlands is acquiring the substances for the study and will then finalize the documentation to submit to the ethics committee.

Additionally, in June 2021, Silo announced its entry into a scientific research agreement with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). The agreement will leverage four other clinical trials being planned by the university to determine the effects of psilocybin on inflammation. The study will take place at The Translational Psychedelic Research (TrPR) Program at UCSF.

Silo also recently extended its exclusive option agreement with the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to explore a novel invention generally known as joint-homing peptides. These peptides are being developed for use in the investigation and treatment of arthritogenic processes and can be used for enhanced targeting of therapeutic agents.

This agreement includes the study of two separate peptides. The first is an option and study for the treatment of arthritis. The second is a patented licensed peptide for the central nervous system, with an initial study for MS autoimmune diseases, in addition to rheumatoid arthritis. Animal studies are underway for both initial indications relating to the UMB agreement, with the potential for studies evaluating additional indications in the future.

Finally, Silo signed an agreement with Columbia University granting it an option to license certain assets currently under development, including an Alzheimer’s disease formulation targeting NDMARs and 5-HT4Rs, as well as a prophylactic treatment for stress-induced disorders and PTSD. Both candidates are currently being tested in mice and have already provided early data.

In addition to its university partnerships, Silo entered a joint venture agreement with Zylo Therapeutics Inc. (“ZTI”) focused on the development of ketamine and psilocybin using ZTI’s Z-Pod™ technology for the transdermal time released delivery of therapeutics. In November 2021, the company announced ZTI’s reception of its first ketamine shipment and initiation of loading ketamine into its Z-Pod technology. In a news release, Eric Weisblum, CEO of Silo, called the development an “important milestone” that will help the company “study the benefits of slow-release transdermal release of Ketamine.”

HeartBeam Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight HeartBeam Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT) .

The USPTO issued a patent for BEAT’s 12-lead electrocardiogram (“ECG”) patch monitor for detection of ACS and cardiac arrhythmia

HeartBeam has developed the only 3D-vector ECG platform for heart-attack detection anytime, anywhere

BEAT’s patch technology could have a disruptive effect on the ECG patch market with its ischemia detection capability

News about heart attacks and other life-threatening cardiovascular issues is alarming. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States ( https://ibn.fm/FN4BR ), and recent reports suggest that COVID-19 may cause heart problems ( https://ibn.fm/7QAky ) and that the incidence of heart attacks in people under age 40 is increasing ( https://ibn.fm/lFzjh ). Many companies are working to provide support for this growing problem, including HeartBeam (NASDAQ: BEAT) , a cardiac technology company that just received a patent for a proprietary device ( https://ibn.fm/RA8EP ).

HeartBeam Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT) is a cardiac technology company that has developed the first and only 3D-vector 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) platform for heart attack detection anytime, anywhere. The company’s proprietary ECG telehealth technology aims to redefine the way high risk cardiovascular patients are diagnosed in ambulatory and acute care settings. HeartBeam’s initial focus is on providing diagnostic data to help physicians with care management of patients with cardiovascular disease.

In August 2022, HeartBeam announced that it submitted its HeartBeam AIMI™ software for approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). HeartBeam AIMI is a platform technology to improve the speed and accuracy of heart attack detection in acute care settings. The company expects FDA approval by the end of 2022, and a full commercial roll-out of HeartBeam AIMI is targeted for Q1 2023.

HeartBeam sees submission of its first product based on its platform technology as an important milestone toward commercialization, which underscores the company’s continued progress toward making the HeartBeam AIMI platform widely available to help emergency department physicians quickly and accurately identify a heart attack.

While the FDA conducts its regulatory review, HeartBeam will focus on executing key components of its commercialization plan and subscription revenue model. It will also continue to engage in discussions with strategic institutions, including academic centers, regional healthcare systems and regional community hospital systems that can utilize HeartBeam products.

The company is based in Santa Clara, California.

Products

HeartBeam’s development portfolio includes two products:

  • HeartBeam AIMI is software that provides a 3D comparison of baseline and symptomatic 12-lead ECG to more accurately identify a heart attack in acute care settings and, as noted above, has been submitted for FDA approval; and
  • HeartBeam AIMIGo™, the first and only credit card-sized 12-lead output ECG device coupled with a smartphone app and cloud-based diagnostic software system for remote heart attack detection.

HeartBeam is developing AIMIGo, a medical-grade detection and monitoring technology for use in remote heart attack detection, thereby allowing physicians to diagnose a patient’s heart attack as it occurs, even if the patient is not at a medical facility. The company’s system, once approved by the FDA, can be used by patients at home or almost anywhere and anytime to help their physicians assess whether chest pain is the result of a heart attack or another cause. While approximately 82% of chest pain ED visits are unnecessary, patients delay approximately 3 to 4 hours after symptoms begin, increasing mortality rates by 40%. The company’s goal is to shorten the time to treatment outside of the medical facility to improve patients’ well-being.

HeartBeam’s AIMIGo is a powerful, portable and easy-to-use prescription-based product. It comprises a smartphone app, a credit card-sized ECG device placed on a patient’s chest, the HeartBeam cloud platform, and a digital portal for the physician to view ECG results and direct patient action. For the first time outside of a medical setting, HeartBeam AIMIGo enables patients and their clinicians to determine if symptoms are due to a heart attack, quickly and easily, so care can be expedited, if needed.

Pending FDA clearance, AIMIGo is initially intended to be available by prescription, and is reimbursable under existing remote patient monitoring codes (RPM codes). This provides a new revenue stream to physicians who before did not have a way to monitor these high-risk patients. The RPM codes provide a monthly reoccurring revenue stream to the company, as well. On average, at current reimbursement rates, the practice will receive $1,300+ per year per patient they monitor, and the company will receive $600 per year per patient from this RPM reimbursement.

Market Overview

Adoption rates of telehealth services increased dramatically in recent years, with the COVID-19 pandemic serving as a major driver of growth. Among the areas seeing the greatest expansion are cardiology, radiology, behavioral health and online consultation.

Encouraging this growth, governments are actively developing new policies and reimbursement guidelines to promote the use of digital health platforms. The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), for example, has recently expanded reimbursement for telehealth services. U.S. market growth is also being driven by the rising prevalence of chronic conditions and the growing geriatric population.

Remote heart attack detection is a previously unsolved problem with a massive and underserved market that is several times larger than the $2 billion total addressable market (TAM) in the U.S. for ECG cardiac arrhythmia monitoring.

Approximately 8 million Americans have suffered at least one heart attack, and a total of 18 million have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease (CAD). Based on these figures, HeartBeam projects a total addressable U.S. market TAM valued at $10 billion annually for its AIMIGo solution for remote heart attack monitoring of CAD.

Aditxt Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTX)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Aditxt Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTX).

Last month, the transplant team at UW Medicine completed the first successful heart transplant in the region. The surgery was coordinated by LifeCenter Northwest , an organ procurement organization. Dr. Maziar Khorsandi led the surgical team during the transplant surgery; Khorsandi is a UW Medicine surgeon who specializes in advanced heart failure and transplants as well as cardiac surgery. The transplanted heart was a donation-after-circulatory death organ. Donation-after-circulatory-death (DCD) refers to organs and tissues that have been offered for transplant after a patient is pronounced dead by a physician once their respiratory and circulatory functions have stopped. Less than 500 transplants using DCD organs have been done in the United States as of August this year. About 2% of these operations were carried out before 2020. Experts believe that this new surgery is being done more as the number of patients who need transplants continues to increase and the number of donor organs available remains unchanged. Stacy McKean, LifeCenter Northwest director of organ procurement, stated that the recovery of the DCD organ used was impactful, noting that transplant team members were excited that they could save more lives using this surgery. With for-profit firms such as Aditxt Inc. (NASDAQ: ADXT) investing in developing therapies to modulate how the immune system responds to transplanted organs, a lot more people are likely to benefit from the lifesaving transplant procedures such as the one the team at the University of Washington conducted.

Aditxt Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTX) is a biotech innovation company developing technologies focused on mapping and reprogramming the immune system. Aditxt’s immune mapping technologies are designed to provide a personalized immune profile. Aditxt’s immune reprogramming technologies, currently preclinical, are being developed to retrain the immune system to induce tolerance to address rejection of transplanted organs, autoimmune diseases, and allergies.

As further discussed below, the company’s first commercial product is an immune mapping technology, AditxtScore™, which is designed to provide a personalized profile of the immune system.

The company’s preclinical immune reprogramming technology, Apoptotic DNA Immunotherapy™ (“ADi™”), aims to retrain the immune system to induce tolerance, with the goal of addressing vast unmet needs in transplanted organ rejection, autoimmune diseases, and allergies. The company is developing specific ADi™ products for psoriasis, type 1 diabetes, and skin grafting.

Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Aditxt also operates locations in Silicon Valley and New York.

AditxtScore™

AditxtScore™ is a proprietary platform designed to provide a personalized, comprehensive profile of an individual’s immune system. The underlying technology, licensed from Stanford University through an exclusive worldwide agreement, offers a highly sensitive and accurate method of detecting and quantifying cellular responses, allowing greater specificity, quantification, and amplification of both clinical and commercial opportunities.

The company’s first commercial application of the platform, AditxtScore™ for COVID-19, delivers timely reports on vulnerability and immune status relating to SARS-CoV-2 and its known variants, giving consumers and physicians the data needed to make informed health decisions. Potential future applications will offer early detection of an array of conditions, including diabetes, cardio-metabolic maladies and hormonal imbalances.

Aditxt’s AditxtScore™ immune monitoring center in Richmond, Virginia, is operational and designed to support the anticipated increased demand for AditxtScore™ as well as related products and services. The company is currently scaling its capabilities at this location, with a goal of processing up to 10 million immune system tests/reports annually.

ADi™

ADi™ is Aditxt’s immune reprogramming platform addressing disease-causing immune responses while maintaining the immune system’s ability to combat pathogenic infection. The company is commercializing a nucleic acid-based technology called Apoptotic DNA Immunotherapy™ (ADi™) which utilizes a novel approach that mimics the way our bodies naturally induce tolerance to our own tissues (therapeutically induced immune tolerance). Aditxt believes its ADi™ technology platform can be engineered to address a wide variety of indications.

Aditxt is currently developing ADi™ products for psoriasis, type 1 diabetes and skin grafting.

Currently, immuno-tolerance is achievable through chimerism and cell-based therapy, but there is a clinical need for a more practical and cost-effective approach which:

  • Can be made into a product
  • Does not require additional hospitalization
  • Is simple to produce and ship

Preclinical studies have demonstrated that ADi™ treatment significantly and substantially prolongs graft survival, in addition to successfully “reversing” other established immune-mediated inflammatory processes. ADi™ treatment is not expected to require hospitalization, instead being delivered as an injection in minute amounts into the skin.

IP Portfolio

Both AditxtScore™ and ADi™ are supported by a strong IP portfolio.

AditxtScore™, built upon initial technology invented, licensed from and used at Stanford University, is protected by U.S. patents encompassing methods, systems, and kits for detection and measurement of specific immune responses.

ADi™ technology is protected by seven patent families, including:

  • 8 U.S. patents
  • 4 pending U.S. patent applications
  • 86 foreign patents and 14 pending foreign patent applications spanning the EU, Australia, Canada, Japan, China, India and Hong Kong

These patents are broadly categorized into three groups:

  • Autoimmune diseases and Type 1 Diabetes
  • Organ transplantation and a method of producing plasmid DNA to prevent immune activation
  • Composition of matter for a tolerance delivery system for antigens of interest

Aditxt also possesses and/or in-licenses substantial know-how and trade secrets relating to the development and commercialization of its product candidates, including related manufacturing processes and technologies.

Market Overview

The potential market opportunities presented by immune monitoring and reprogramming are extensive, particularly as Aditxt continues to evaluate additional applications for the platforms.

The company’s initial focus on organ transplantation and related autoimmune response provides some insight into the potential of its approach. According to BCC Research, the global organ and tissue transplantation and alternatives market is on course to reach $120.3 billion by 2024, recording a CAGR of 7.4% from 2019. Industry data suggest that approximately 50% of all transplanted organs are rejected within 10-12 years, further highlighting the critical need for a practical, cost-effective solution to harmful autoimmune responses.

Through its focus on the COVID-19 testing market with AditxtScore™, Aditxt demonstrated the wide-ranging potential of its portfolio. Fortune Business Insights estimated the global COVID-19 diagnostics market at $48.64 billion for 2022. While demand for COVID-19 diagnostics is expected to lessen in the coming years, Aditxt will be uniquely positioned to leverage its existing infrastructure stemming from these operations as the company works to advance broader applications for the AditxtScore™ platform.

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Golden Matrix Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GMGI).

Data Bridge Market Research forecasts a 13.7% CAGR for the casino online gambling market to reach $144.74 billion in 2028

Golden Matrix Group is demonstrating growth in both its B2B and B2C businesses, as it prepares to enter the Mexican markets

GMGI revenue for the first nine months of fiscal 2022 was $26.46 million, up 237% from a year earlier, while the company notched its 16th consecutive profitable quarter

For decades, there was little substantial innovation in the gambling industry and then along came the miracle of the internet and changed everything with the emergence on online gaming. Still, most traditional casino operators were slow to embrace the digital opportunity until the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns limited travel and shuttered their doors. That sparked a renaissance and provided a growth opportunity for companies like Golden Matrix Group (NASDAQ: GMGI) , a provider of turnkey and white label gaming platforms, Esports technology and gaming content.

Golden Matrix Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GMGI), based in Las Vegas, Nevada, is an established gaming technology company that develops and owns online gaming IP and builds turnkey online casino solutions for gaming operators as well as configurable and scalable white-label gaming platforms for international customers, located primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. GMGI’s gaming IP includes tools for marketing, acquisition, retention and monetization of users. The company’s platform can be accessed through both desktop and mobile applications.

GMGI’s sophisticated software automatically declines any gaming or redemption requests from within the United States, in strict compliance with U.S. law.

Golden Matrix, through a subsidiary, also runs a pay-to-enter prize competition in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The company’s shares began trading on the Nasdaq under the symbol ‘GMGI’ on March 17, 2022. Golden Matrix shares were previously traded on the OTCQX Best Market.

For the quarter ended January 31, 2022, the company reported revenue of $8.88 million, an increase of 355% over the same quarter one year earlier. Net income for the three-month period was $349,379, up from $52,158 a year earlier. It was the company’s 14th consecutive profitable quarter.

In December 2021, Golden Matrix announced it had entered into a purchase agreement to acquire a controlling ownership interest in UK-based RKingsCompetitions Ltd., one of Ireland’s and the United Kingdom’s leading independent online competition companies. RKings presents customers with paid and free entry routes to competitions that offer a range of prizes, including residential properties, luxury and exotic motor vehicles, holiday packages, technology packages and cash. The competitions are currently open only to residents of Ireland and the United Kingdom. Golden Matrix acquired an 80% ownership interest in RKings for cash and stock. The company also secured an option to purchase the remaining 20 percent interest of RKings, subject to certain requirements.

Market Outlook

Online gaming and sports betting sites and apps are increasingly taking market share from traditional location-based casinos. Widespread internet service availability and increasing use of mobile phones for playing online games from homes and public places is driving the market, according to a report from Grand View Research. In addition, factors such as easy access to online gambling, legalization and cultural approval, corporate sponsorships, and celebrity endorsements are also contributing to market growth. The growing availability of cost-effective mobile applications across the globe is further expected to fuel market growth.

This trend is only expected to accelerate as millennials reach their peak earning years and Gen Z youth begin to complete their education and move into careers. These generations are completely comfortable with online recreation, and with using technology like digital wallets and digital gameplay that underpins online gaming.

The global online gambling market was valued at $53.7 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.5% from 2020 to 2027 to reach a value of $127.3 billion, according to Grand View Research, with much of the growth expected from the U.S. and Asia. Projects

Iska Iska – Potosi, Bolivia

Iska Iska is associated with a Miocene possibly collapsed/resurgent caldera, emplaced on Ordovician age rocks with major breccia pipes, dacitic domes and hydrothermal breccias. The property is wholly controlled by the title holder, Empresa Minera Villegas S.R.L. It is located 48 kilometers north of Tupiza city, in the Sud Chichas Province of the Department of Potosi. This is an important mineral deposit type in the prolific South Mineral Belt of Bolivia. Eloro commissioned a NI 43-101 Technical Report on Iska Iska, which was completed by Micon International Limited and is available on Eloro’s website and under its filings on SEDAR.

A fully financed drill program is currently underway on the property, situated near world-class deposits including Silver Sand, San Bartolomé, Pulacayo, San Cristobal, San Vicente, Chorolque, Tasna, Choroma and Siete Suyos. Iska Iska is in the southwest part of the Eastern Cordillera, which hosts a number of major polymetallic mines and mineral deposits. Drilling and continuous channel sampling results have demonstrated some very high metal values, especially silver and tin, within an immense system, where mineralization has been encountered in every drill hole to date. The company believes there is excellent potential for world-class bulk mineable deposits.

La Victoria – Ancash, Peru

The La Victoria project, targeting gold and silver production, is situated near world-class, low-cost gold producers Pan American Silver and Barrick Gold Corporation. Located in Ancash Department, La Victoria sits on the western slopes of the Peruvian Andes. The property is located 12 hours from Lima, with a travel distance of 600 kilometers. The nearest road accessible population centers from La Victoria are Huandoval, Pallasca and Cabana. The project includes four principal mineralized zones in Peru’s prolific North-Central Mineral Belt – San Markito, Victoria, Victoria South and Ccori Orcco – with excellent potential for gold discovery. Operations at La Victoria are planned to proceed with a 2,000-meter diamond drilling program to test targets to outline potential resources at San Markito. Trenching and sampling confirmed high silver values and veins at San Markito in 2020.

Market Outlook

According to industry association The Silver Institute, the outlook for silver demand is exceptionally promising, with global demand forecast to rise to a record high of 1.112 billion ounces in 2022. The increase will be driven by record silver industrial fabrication, which is forecast to improve by 5%, as silver’s use expands primarily in solar energy and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. The institute states that government commitments to carbon neutrality have resulted in a rapid expansion of green energy projects, driving record photovoltaic panel installations which are expected to lift silver demand in this segment to an all-time high in 2022.

Rising demand in the electronics industry is also boosting the demand for tin, which is primarily used in solder. The electronics and electrical industries use solders containing 40-70% tin, which provide strong and reliable joints under a variety of environmental conditions. At present, the majority of the assemblers are using patented tin-and-copper-based solders. Mordor Intelligence estimated tin demand at 387 kilotons in 2021 and forecasts demand growth of 2.5% annually through 2027. Over the medium term, surging demand from the EV market and increasing applications in the electrical and electronics industry is expected to drive the market.

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX).

Lexaria is the drug delivery platform innovator behind the disruptive, patented DehydraTECH(TM) technology

DehydraTECH is designed to enhance the performance of fat-soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients (“APIs”), molecules, and drugs by increasing their bioavailability

Through animal and human studies, Lexaria has shown that DehydraTECH increases the bioavailability of antiviral drugs, CBD, oral nicotine and more

The company is focusing on multiple mainstream applications of its technology that rerrcould address serious unmet patient needs

Lexaria is currently keen on developing a potential treatment for hypertension

Last summer, drug delivery platform innovator Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX) announced a review of its successful 2021 antiviral drug program. The program, which aimed to determine whether the processing of leading antiviral drugs using its patented DehydraTECH could exhibit evidence of superior oral absorption relative to controls; whether DehydraTECH processing of these compounds would preserve the expected viral inhibitory performance; and whether DehydraTECH does not alter or degrade the drug molecules chemically, met all three of these objectives ( https://cnw.fm/Nncql ).

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) is a global innovator in drug delivery platforms. The company’s patented technology, DehydraTECH™, improves the way active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) enter the bloodstream by promoting healthier oral ingestion methods and increasing the effectiveness of fat-soluble active molecules. DehydraTECH promotes fast-acting, less expensive and more effective oral drug delivery and has been thoroughly evaluated through in vivo, in vitro and human clinical testing.

DehydraTECH is covered by 21 issued and more than 50 pending patents in over 40 countries around the world. Lexaria’s first patent was issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in October 2016 (US 9,474,725 B1), providing 20 years of patent protection expiring June 2034. Multiple patents have been awarded since then and are expected in the future.

Lexaria has a collaborative research agreement with the National Research Council (NRC), the Canadian government’s premier research and technology organization. The company has filed for patent protection for specific delivery of nicotine, vitamins, NSAIDs, testosterone, estrogen, cannabinoids, terpenes, PDE5 inhibitors (with brand names like Viagra), tobacco and more.

Lexaria began developing DehydraTECH in 2014 and has since continued to strengthen and broaden the technology. The company has no plans to create or sell Lexaria-branded products containing controlled substances. Instead, Lexaria licenses its technology to other companies around the world to offer consumers the best possible performance across an array of ingestible product formats.

The company’s technology is best thought of as an additional layer that providers of consumer supplements, prescription and non-prescription drugs, nicotine and CBD products can utilize to improve the effectiveness of their own existing or planned new offerings. Lexaria has licensed DehydraTECH to multiple companies, including a world-leading tobacco producer for the research and development of smokeless, oral-based nicotine products, and for use in industries that produce cannabinoid beverages, edibles and oral products.

DehydraTECH is suitable for use with a wide range of product formats including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, consumer packaged goods and over-the-counter capsules, pills, tablets and oral suspensions.

DehydraTECH Technology

Lexaria’s DehydraTECH is designed specifically for formulating and delivering lipophilic (fat-soluble) drugs and active ingredients. DehydraTECH increases their effectiveness and improves the way active pharmaceutical ingredients enter the bloodstream. The major benefits to a subject ingesting a DehydraTECH-enabled drug or consumer product can be summarized by the following:

  • Speeds up delivery – the effects of the product are felt by the subject in just minutes.
  • Increases bioavailability – the technology is much more effective at delivering a drug or product into the bloodstream.
  • Increases brain absorption – animal testing suggests significant improvement in the quantity of drug delivered across the blood-brain barrier.
  • Improves drug potency – more of the ingested product is made available to the body, so lower doses are required to achieve the desired effect.
  • Reduces drug administration cost – lower doses mean lower overall drug costs.
  • Masks unwanted taste – the technology eliminates or reduces the need for sweeteners.

Lexaria has demonstrated in animal studies a propensity for DehydraTECH technology to elevate the quantity of drug delivered across the blood-brain barrier by as much as 1,900 percent, initiating additional new patent applications and opening possibilities for improved drug delivery.

Since 2016, DehydraTECH has repeatedly demonstrated, with cannabinoids and nicotine, the ability to increase bio-absorption by up to five to 10 times, reduce time of onset from one to two hours to just minutes, and mask unwanted tastes. The technology is to be further evaluated for additional orally administered bioactive molecules, including antivirals, cannabinoids, vitamins, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and nicotine.

Market Outlook

Lexaria’s ongoing research and development efforts are mainly focused on development of product candidates across several key segments:

  • Oral Cannabinoids – a market estimated to be worth $18.4 billion in 2021 and expected to reach $46.2 billion by 2025.

Company Mission – Reimagining Public Safety

Knightscope’s long-term vision has an eye on the greater good. The company’s mission is to make the United States of America the safest nation in the world while supporting the 2+ million law enforcement and security professionals across the country.

Crime has an estimated negative economic impact in excess of $2 trillion annually. As crime is reduced, positive impacts will likely be realized across several aspects of society, including housing, financial markets, insurance, municipal budgets, local business and safety in general.

Knightscope CEO William Santana Li was interviewed by Kevin O’Leary, more commonly known as Shark Tank’s Mr. Wonderful. When asked to explain how the benefits provided by the ASRs outrank a human doing the same job, Li said, “First, just the simple presence of a physical deterrent causes criminal behavior to change. Second, the machines are self-driving cars that patrol all around and recharge themselves. They also generate 90 terabytes of data per year. No human would ever be able to process that. The robots are intended to be eyes and ears for the humans, not a one-to-one replacement.”

The Knightscope solution to reduce crime combines the physical presence of ASRs, sometimes referred to as proprietary Autonomous Data Machines, with real-time onsite data collection and analysis. The ASRs are fitted with eye-level 360° cameras, thermal scanning, public address announcements and various other features that work in tandem with humans to provide law enforcement officers and security guards unprecedented situational awareness.

Those 90 terabytes of data are then formatted in a useable way, so law enforcement can leverage that information and execute their responsibilities more effectively.

Public Safety Innovation

The company’s recurring revenue business model is set up to mimic the recurring societal problem of crime, and it takes into consideration the fact that innovation in the security and public safety industry has been stagnant for decades. Because the traditional practices of the sector have remained unchanged for years, automation has potential to drive substantial cost savings – and significant improvement in capabilities.

Human security guards are one of both the largest expenses and the largest liabilities for companies. Knightscope’s robots are offered at an effective price of $3 to $9 per hour, compared with approximately $85 for an armed off-duty law enforcement officer and $15 to $35 for an unarmed security guard.

This innovation has the potential to drive considerable cost savings. Based on these estimates, manufacturing costs can be recovered as soon as the first year of operation.

Product Offerings

The company has nine patents and a framework of unique intellectual property. Knightscope currently offers a K1 stationary machine, a K3 indoor machine and a K5 outdoor machine. A K7 multi-terrain four-wheel version is in development.

The ASRs autonomously patrol client sites without the need for remote control, providing a visible, force multiplying, physical security presence to help protect assets, monitor changes in the area and deter crime. The data is accessible through the Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC), an intuitive, browser-based interface that enables security professionals to review events generated by the ASRs providing effectively ‘mobile smart eyes and ears’. Learn more at www.knightscope.com/ksoc

The ASRs and the related technologies were developed ground up by the company and are Made in the USA.

The Robot Roadshow

Knightscope has created the ultimate hybrid physical and virtual event, bringing its Autonomous Security Robot technologies to cities across the country for interactive and in-person demonstrations.

Each roadshow landing is hosted virtually by a Knightscope expert, and visitors can interact directly with each of the company’s ASRs and see the Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC) user interface in action. Learn more at www.knightscope.com/roadshow

CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP).

CNS Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CNSP) , a preclinical stage biotechnology company specializing in developing novel treatments for brain tumors, has focused on its lead drug candidate, Berubicin, to potentially treat glioblastoma (“GBM”). “CNS has since made significant headway, even receiving FDA Fast Track Designation, which now offers it an accelerated path to approval for Berubicin. ‘With this designation, we now have an accelerated pathway to approval for Berubicin and a clear opportunity to more expediently bring this potentially impactful investigational therapy to individuals battling this challenging disease,’ noted CNS CEO John Climaco. GBM’s median survival from initial diagnosis is less than 15 months, with a 2-year survival rate of 26-44%. Globally, it affects 5 out of 100,000 people, making it the most common and devastating primary malignant brain tumor affecting adults,” a recent article reads. “CNS hopes its research will offer a solution to the millions of people currently dealing with GBM globally. Given how much promise Berubicin has shown, its management is optimistic that with additional studies, it will get to offer a much-needed treatment option for the condition.” To view the full article, visit https://ibn.fm/CGHvR

CNS Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNSP) is a clinical stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of novel treatments for primary and metastatic cancers of the brain and central nervous system.

The company was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Organ Targeted Therapeutics

The company’s lead drug candidate, Berubicin, is proposed for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (“GBM”), an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Berubicin also has potential to treat other central nervous system malignancies. Based on limited clinical data, Berubicin appears to be the first anthracycline to cross the blood brain barrier in the adult brain, and it was the subject of a successful Phase 1 study which found the MDT and produced efficacy data as well.

CNS holds a worldwide exclusive license to the Berubicin chemical compound. The company has acquired all requisite data and know-how from Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc. related to a completed Phase I clinical trial of Berubicin in malignant brain tumors. In this trial, 44% of patients experienced a statistically significant improvement in clinical benefit. In 2017, CNS entered into a collaboration and asset purchase agreement with Reata.

CNS intends to explore the potential of Berubicin to treat other diseases, including pancreatic and ovarian cancers and lymphoma. The company is also examining plans to develop combination therapies that include Berubicin.

CNS estimates that more than $25 million in private capital and grants were invested in Berubicin prior to the company’s $9.8 million IPO in November 2019.

CNS intends to submit an IND for Berubicin during the fourth quarter of 2020 and expects to commence a Phase II clinical trial of Berubicin for the treatment of GBM in the U.S. in Q1 2021. A sub-licensee partner was awarded a $6 million EU/Polish National Center for Research and Development grant to undertake a Phase II trial of Berubicin in adults and a first-ever Phase I trial in pediatric GBM patients in Poland in 2021.

The company’s second drug candidate, WP1244, is a novel DNA binding agent licensed from the MD Anderson Cancer Center. In preclinical studies, WP1244 proved to be 500-times more potent than the chemotherapeutic agent, daunorubicin, in inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. The company has entered into a sponsored research agreement with the MD Anderson Cancer Center to further the development of WP1244.

CNS Pharmaceuticals recently engaged U.S.-based Pharmaceutics International Inc. and Italian BSP Pharmaceuticals SpA for the production of the Berubicin drug product. The company has implemented a dual-track manufacturing strategy to mitigate COVID-19-related risks, diversify its supply chain and provide for localized availability of Berubicin. CNS has already completed synthesis of Berubicin’s active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and has shipped the API to both manufacturers in order to prepare an injectable form of Berubicin for clinical use.

Global Brain Tumor Therapeutics Market

The high recurrence rate of malignant brain tumors is due to reappearance of focal masses, indicating that a sub-population of tumor cells in these cancers may be insensitive to current therapies and may be responsible for reinitiating tumor growth. This necessitates the development of newer drugs in the market that demonstrate greater efficacy in treating such aggressive cancers.

A global increase in neurological disorders has placed increased attention on cancers of the brain over the past decade. Neurological disorders are becoming one of the most prevalent types of disorders, due to longer life expectancy, greater exposure to infection and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle. Because few treatments for primary and metastatic cancers of the brain exist, costs are high and have acted as a restraint for the brain tumor therapeutics market.

Despite progress in surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapeutic strategies, effective treatments for brain cancer are limited by a lack of specific therapies for the brain and the difficulty in transporting therapeutic compounds across the blood brain barrier. Therefore, there is a significant need for novel and effective therapeutic drugs and strategies that prolong survival and improve quality of life for brain tumor patients.

Several companies are making significant investments into R&D, which is expected to bring more treatment options to the market in the near future. Industry reports consistently project continued growth in the market.

One report estimates that the global brain tumor therapeutics market will reach a valuation of $2.74 billion in 2023, with the market expected to register a CAGR of 11% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2023. Another report projects that the global brain tumor therapeutics market will reach $3.4 billion by 2025, up from $2.25 billion in 2019 (http://nnw.fm/eDUjp).

The company is combating climate change and helping communities contribute to a sustainable future by acquiring, developing, building, owning and operating a portfolio of renewable natural gas (RNG), waste-to-energy, and related infrastructure projects.

While EverGen is currently focused on British Columbia, its continued growth is expected across other regions of North America. RNG is produced differently than conventional natural gas, without drilling wells. RNG is derived from biogas, which is captured from decomposing organic waste in landfills, food waste, agricultural waste matter and wastewater from treatment facilities. This waste feedstock is supplied to an anaerobic digester which contains bacteria that breaks down organic matter in the absence of oxygen. The resulting biogas is captured and cleaned to create carbon neutral or carbon negative RNG to be used by the existing North American gas pipeline grid. By capturing these emissions and transforming them into RNG, then combusting into CO2, the overall greenhouse gases (GHG) impact is materially less potent than allowing natural decomposition to release methane into the atmosphere. Liquid and solid digestate matter is a byproduct of the RNG production process and is used as fertilizer and in other applications.

EverGen operates three projects in British Columbia. The company was incorporated in 2020 and went public in 2021, with its common shares listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under ticker symbol ‘EVGN’. In February 2022, EverGen’s common shares began trading on the OTCQB Venture Market in the U.S. under ticker symbol ‘EVGIF’. The company is headquartered in Vancouver.

Portfolio Projects

Fraser Valley Biogas is one of three projects in EverGen’s portfolio. Located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, the facility has been digesting manure and off-farm organics since 2011 and was the first agricultural digester in Canada to produce RNG. The RNG generated through this project is part of a FortisBC program to supply renewable gas to homes, businesses and other customers. Fraser Valley Biogas also provides Abbotsford farms with renewable fertilizer via the digestate produced. EverGen acquired Fraser Valley Biogas early in 2021 and is currently enhancing and expanding the facility. These optimization projects resulted in record production during the month of September 2021, supporting the growing demand for RNG in British Columbia. Optimization activities contributed an additional 18% of RNG production for September and a 9% higher year-to-date production compared to the previous year. The facility produces approximately 80,000 gigajoules of RNG, enough to heat more than 1,000 homes for a year.

Net Zero Waste Abbotsford, a wholly owned EverGen subsidiary and portfolio project, is an existing composting and organic processing facility and RNG expansion project. The British Columbia Utilities Commission recently approved a 20-year offtake agreement between the facility and FortisBC, an electricity and gas utility. Under this agreement, FortisBC will purchase up to 173,000 gigajoules of RNG annually for injection into its natural gas system upon completion of an anaerobic digester project at Net Zero Waste Abbotsford. Once construction is complete, this project is expected to produce enough energy to meet the needs of more than 1,900 homes.

Sea to Sky Soils, a wholly owned EverGen subsidiary and portfolio project, is an existing composting and organic processing facility and potential future RNG expansion project which has been operating near Pemberton, British Columbia, on Lil’wat Nation land since 2012. The Lil’wat Nation is a key partner and supporter of the facility, which has employed a majority of its staff from the First Nation since inception. The Sea to Sky Soils facility processed approximately 160 percent of its forecast tonnage in the second half of 2021. In total, Sea to Sky Soils processed approximately 36,000 tons of organic waste in 2021. The facility is working with the Ministry of Environment to expand its operational capacity in 2022. EverGen has partnered with local municipalities – including Metro Vancouver and the municipality of Pemberton – for the delivery of additional organic waste to the facility. The facility is an important part of EverGen’s RNG infrastructure platform and serves as a source of valuable feedstock to support the company’s existing and future operations.

Market Outlook

A report from Global Market Insights states that the biogas market is projected to see significant growth over the next few years, driven by a shifting preference to utilize biogas to reduce emission levels from traditional fuels. Escalating RNG usage by gas utilities as a sustainable and low carbon alternative to supply heat and electricity in industries and buildings will further stimulate growth. RNG is increasingly deployed across the transport sector, especially for heavy vehicles and vessels, to abate GHG emissions.

Many North American gas utilities have set RNG targets of 5% to 15% of production by volume in 2030, compared to less than 1% by volume in 2020. FortisBC has a goal of including 15% RNG in its gas supply by 2030. EverGen believes this presents a potential C$16 billion+ opportunity for RNG producers.

Children with epilepsy in the United Kingdom are scheduled to receive medical marijuana for free after private companies responded to a plea from Charlotte Caldwell. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which an individual’s brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or unusual sensations and behaviors. In some cases, individuals may lose awareness. Caldwell campaigned for help for families that incurred high costs of treatment for privately prescribed marijuana as they underwent a taxing application process for treatment under NHS. In a recent interview, Caldwell stated that this would make a big difference to families undergoing this process, especially in the current cost of living crisis, because it would greatly relieve their financial burden. Caldwell has a son, Billy, who was diagnosed with severe refractory epilepsy. Billy was the first individual in the UK to be prescribed medical marijuana . Billy, who is now 17, undergoes a cannabis treatment three times daily. His mother reveals that this treatment has led to a decrease in the number of seizures her son suffers, from about 100 every day to almost none.

D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NYSE: QBTS)

The QualityStocks Daily Newsletter would like to spotlight D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NYSE: QBTS).

40% of large enterprises are already experimenting with quantum computing to solve some of their most complex problems, according to 451 Research

Optimization problems make up a significant portion of the enterprise problem universe, and annealing quantum computers are uniquely effective at solving these types of problems

D-Wave is the only provider building both annealing and gate-model quantum computers that provide opportunities for businesses looking to optimize at scale

The classical computer architecture relies on binary coding, which assigns values of 0 or 1, limiting the decision-making process to a return result of one. The binary space cannot handle large volumes of data with many variables and requires those loading the data to compress, reduce, or limit the data being processed, resulting in lower quality solutions. Businesses representing a variety of industries, like manufacturing, logistics, financial services, and life sciences, rely on optimization to help them tackle common obstacles and problems in the computing world – which binary coding cannot support at scale. The quantum computing framework is multi-dimensional. Using qubits, quantum computers can represent superposition states between 0 and 1, allowing them to represent an exponentially larger state of space to process and store data. With the limitations of classical computers becoming more apparent, quantum computing is now helping businesses optimize data and bring problem-solving to scale. D-Wave Quantum (NYSE: QBTS) is a leader in quantum computing systems, software, and services focused on delivering customer value via practical quantum applications for problems such as logistics, artificial intelligence, materials sciences, drug discovery, scheduling, fault detection, and financial modeling. Market Opportunity

Africa is the second-largest continent by population. It is also the youngest by far, with a median age of 18 for its 1.3 billion people. Tingo believes the building blocks for growth in Africa’s agriculture industry are in place and that the company is well positioned to participate in the upside. Sub-Saharan Africa’s population is growing at a rate of 2.7 percent per year. At the current growth rate, the continent’s population will double by 2050. Africa’s youthfulness represents a significant opportunity for material growth in demand for agricultural commodities. This younger generation is also being born into a digital world and is comfortable using technology.

Africa’s governments are improving business conditions for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Sub-Saharan Africa’s World Bank Doing Business rank has improved from 45 in 2004 to 65 in 2020. Tingo believes this trend will continue and encourage establishment of more new ventures across all economic sectors, including agriculture.

Africa attracted $407 billion of Foreign Direct Investments (“FDI”) between 2014 and 2018. Investments are increasingly focused on services and industrial sectors. Only 20 percent of investments are in extractive industries – a clear reversal from 2008, when 55 percent of FDI was aimed at resource extraction. Tingo believes FDI into Africa will help resolve significant infrastructure constraints and create value for agribusiness.
