An expert has revealed that fear in the market could actually be one of the strongest forces pushing Bitcoin’s price higher. While many investors panic during times of uncertainty, new research shows that these fearful moments often mark the beginning of a major rebound.

According to a recent report by Copper, which analyzed forty past fear events, Bitcoin tends to drop by around ten to twelve percent within three to four weeks after the Crypto Fear and Greed Index falls below 40. This level signals that investors are nervous or uncertain. However, once that fear settles, the report shows that Bitcoin usually bounces back strongly, gaining between fifteen and thirty percent within the next six to ten weeks.

The report suggests that the current market situation in October 2025 fits this pattern almost perfectly. Bitcoin recently dipped to around $102,000 to $103,000, a level experts believe could be the bottom of the fear-driven decline. If the pattern continues as history suggests, Bitcoin may recover to around $125,000 to $130,000 by mid-December.

Although the month of October is often known as “Uptober” because Bitcoin normally performs well, this year has been weaker than expected. So far, the world’s largest cryptocurrency has gained only about one percent in October. Still, experts believe that the bull-run is not over yet and that Bitcoin might climb back to its all-time highs above $126,000 before the end of the year.

Crypto flows between Cambodia’s Huione Guarantee and South Korea’s biggest crypto exchanges soared nearly 1,400-fold in 2024, drawing sharp scrutiny from lawmakers and regulators concerned about possible links to organized crime in Southeast Asia.

Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) data disclosed by opposition legislator Lee Yang-soo shows that transactions between Huione Guarantee and five leading South Korean exchanges, namely Bithumb, Upbit, Coinone, Gopax, and Korbit, amounted to $8.9 million last year. The figure marks an extraordinary leap from only $6,425 in 2023. In response, all five exchanges have now suspended dealings with Huione Guarantee.

The platform is part of the Phnom Penh-based Huione Group, which has been sanctioned by both the United States and the United Kingdom for laundering funds tied to human trafficking, online fraud, and cybercrime. Authorities believe its digital asset operations act as a major financial channel for illicit networks operating across the region.

Among the exchanges, Bithumb saw the sharpest rise in transactions, jumping from $6,425 in 2023 to $8.6 million last year. Upbit, which previously had no interaction with Huione, recorded $255,681 in transfers. The trend has continued into this year, with transaction volume reaching over $2.2 million by October 20. Most of these transfers were in Tether (USDT).

In response, South Korean regulators have tightened their oversight. Dunamu, which operates Upbit, flagged suspicious transactions to regulators, identified related crypto wallets, and imposed a full transfer ban. Bithumb soon followed, blocking all deposits and withdrawals linked to Huione in May.

The FSS also disclosed that Cambodian subsidiaries of four Korean banks, namely Woori Bank, Jeonbuk Bank, Shinhan Bank, and KB Kookmin Bank, paid more than $1 million in interest to Prince Group, another Cambodian company currently under scrutiny for possible financial crimes.

Meanwhile, investors in South Korea showed heightened risk appetite during the Chuseok holiday earlier this month, funneling $1.24 billion into crypto and tech-linked assets as domestic markets remained closed. The buying spree centered on high-growth stocks and leveraged exchange-traded funds, with major purchases including Iris Energy, Tesla, and Meta Platforms.

However, gains were short-lived as renewed China-US trade tensions triggered a global market sell-off, erasing much of the prior week’s momentum.

Health insurance coverage for medical marijuana remains largely out of reach across the U.S., but a new initiative could soon offer some financial relief to patients who rely on marijuana-based treatments. 

The American Council of Cannabis Medicine (ACCM) has introduced a reimbursement program known as Elevated States, which aims to cover part of the expenses tied to medical cannabis use. Under the program, qualifying patients could get up to $175 each month to offset costs related to cannabis purchases and doctor consultations. 

Several major insurers, including Envita Health, Cigna, and Detego Health, are reportedly participating in certain plans across the 38 states where medical cannabis is legal. ACCM consultant Doug Benns expects about 15 insurance companies to be involved by the time open enrollment begins on November 1. Coverage details vary, with some plans reimbursing medical consultations, while others extend benefits to dispensary purchases, or both. 

Despite growing public acceptance of medical cannabis and several state-level rulings requiring reimbursement under workers’ compensation, federal prohibition continues to deter large-scale insurer involvement. The lack of federal guidance leaves most patients paying out of pocket for cannabis-based treatments. 

According to Steph Sherer, president of Americans for Safe Access, the new efforts should not be mistaken for full insurance coverage. “There’s a lot of discussion about frameworks and benefits, but right now no insurance company is truly covering marijuana,” she said. Most of the current offerings, Sherer added, resemble employee discounts rather than actual medical benefits. Patients may receive price reductions at dispensaries or with cannabis specialists, but that’s far from the comprehensive coverage advocates are seeking. 

Some states have experimented with workers’ compensation reimbursements for medical marijuana, though experts say these remain isolated examples rather than signs of a national shift. Still, even partial reimbursement could provide a much-needed boost for the industry, which often sees patient numbers decline once recreational markets open. 

One early participant in the EM2P2 and ACCM network is Kolas, a Sacramento-based cannabis company that operates six dispensaries serving both medical and recreational customers. Kevin McCarty, the company’s compliance director, said medical users currently make up about 5% of their clientele, but he expects that number to grow once patients can seek reimbursement. 

Federal prohibition remains the biggest barrier to true insurance integration. Without consistent federal guidelines or standardized medical protocols, insurers are hesitant to underwrite cannabis treatments. Advocates argue that reclassifying marijuana under federal law could be a turning point.

According to a report from Straits Research, a global market and business research firm, the worldwide platinum market had an estimated value of $7.72 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach $11.95 billion by 2031. That represents a CAGR of 5.13% over the forecast period.

Platinum, one of the rarest of precious metals, is about 30 times scarcer than gold. It is crucial to the automotive and electronics industries and is also used to make jewelry. Stricter emissions regulations around the world have led to an increased demand for platinum to be used in catalytic converters to reduce automotive emission, the report states.

Natural Hydrogen (Saskatchewan)

MAX Power holds multiple large land packages across Saskatchewan prospective for deposits of natural hydrogen, highlighted by the 200-km-long Genesis Trend and the 75-km-wide Grasslands Project.

Genesis features easy road, rail and power access and a proposed hydrogen hub on its eastern side where there is an abundance of potential end-users for natural hydrogen. Drilling is set to begin in early November 2025 at the Lawson target situated in the heart of Genesis. Canada’s first deep well for natural hydrogen is specifically designed to test a complete five-element hydrogen system interpreted to exist at Lawson: source rocks, migration pathways, reservoirs, seals, and traps. Data from vintage and proprietary 2D seismic, gravity and magnetic surveys, and subsurface mapping, among other geological and geophysical information, support the prospectivity of Lawson which lies adjacent to an extensive regional “Salt Barrier” offering excellent seal and trap conditions.

The Genesis Trend’s scalability is further demonstrated by the recent identification of the Lucky Lake target, approximately 50 km northwest of Lawson and one of at least 20 Lawson “look-a-likes” that is being investigated along the trend. Early interpretation suggests serpentinized rocks and structural features favorable for hydrogen generation exist at Lucky Lake.

At Grasslands, geologists are excited about a broad area in the vicinity of a well (“Climax”) near the U.S. border that was drilled a few years ago and inadvertently resulted in Canada’s first known deep subsurface occurrence of natural hydrogen, associated with a rare rock assemblage geologists refer to as “exotic terrane”. Permits covering an area stretching 75 km east-west and up to 10 km north-south were acquired by MAX Power next to this discovery, amplifying the company’s first-mover advantage. Adjacent to three sides of Grasslands are producing helium wells owned by privately-held North American Helium, demonstrating that this under-explored area of the province is highly prospective for clean gas. Drilling of a target at Grasslands is expected during Q1 2026.

Other MAX Power land packages are Rider 1, 2 and 3 in the southeast part of the province, and Choiceland in the north-central part of the province.

To enhance scientific rigor and accelerate development, MAX Power has established a multi-year strategic collaboration with the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), a globally recognized leader in subsurface energy research based in Regina, Saskatchewan.
