Established in 2007, Corsa Coal Corp. is a premium quality metallurgical coal producer based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. It focuses on the production and sales of metallurgical coal, a critical ingredient in the production of steel. Corsa Coal markets and sells its coal to customers in North America, Europe, South America, as well as Asia. The Company’s shares trade on the OTC Markets Group’s OTCQX.

Corsa Coal’s core business is producing and selling metallurgical coal to domestic and international steel and coke producers in the Atlantic and Pacific basin markets. Corsa is a pure play metallurgical coal producer with mines located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and Grantsville, Maryland. The Company mines, processes, and sells metallurgical coal for the global steel industry from underground and surface mine operations.

Corsa Coal produces high-quality, low volatile metallurgical coal. This coal has strong coking properties, making it ideally suited for steelmakers. Currently, the Company has the operational capacity at its mines to produce greater than 1.6 million tons of coal per year, with processing capacity at its two operating plants in excess of 4.0 million.

Last week, Corsa Coal reported financial results for the three months and Full Year (FY) ended December 31, 2019. Total Revenue from Continuing Operations for the three months and year ended December 31, 2019 were $52.5 million and $230.9 million, respectively, versus $66.5 million and $265.9 million for the three months and year ended December 31, 2018, respectively.

The Company reported Net and Comprehensive Loss from Continuing Operations of $8.2 million, or $0.09 per share attributable to shareholders, for Q4 2019, versus Income of $10.3 million, or $0.09 per share attributable to shareholders, for Q4 2018.

Net and Comprehensive Loss from Continuing Operations for the year ended December 31, 2019 was $0.5 million, or $0.03 per share attributable to shareholders versus Income of $5.9 million, or $0.03 per share attributable to shareholders for the year ended December 31, 2018.

Excellon Resources, Inc. is a silver mining and exploration company headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Nouveau Monde Graphite, Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, evaluation, and development of mineral properties in the Province of Québec. In 2015, the Company discovered a high quality graphite deposit on its Matawinie property located in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, 150 km north of Montreal, Québec. The successful commissioning of the commercial-scale equipment received at the Saint-Michel-des-Saints demonstration plant in December will permit Nouveau Monde to move ahead with its strategy to supply the lithium-ion battery market with a product that is ethically and sustainably extracted and processed.

In March, Nouveau Monde Graphite announced an updated pit-constrained Mineral Resource Estimate (Current Resource) for its West Zone Deposit in the Tony Claim Block that is part of its Matawinie graphite property. The update follows a drilling campaign completed in the fall of 2019. Selected highlights include the identification of 24.5 Mt of Measured Resources; and an increase of 25 percent in the combined Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource categories.

The development of the mine and concentrator for the Matawinie property continues to progress. Detailed engineering of the site for the concentrator and the process continues in telecommuting format with team members and consultants. The Company states that the class 2 estimate should be completed at the end of Q3-2020, and also the commissioning of long-lead equipment.

Taranis Resources holds a 100 percent interest in the Thor property, which consists of 27 crown granted mineral claims and 14 mineral tenures encompassing an area of 3,314 hectares situated in the Revelstoke mining district of British Columbia. Thor occurs within a 40 mile long belt of precious metal deposits that occur in three “belts”. The “Central Mineral Belt” is the most significant. It has seen virtually no exploration or development since WWII.

The Thor property is located close to infrastructure and an experienced mining workforce. There is considerable opportunity to develop satellite deposits. Thor belongs to a rare and unique collection of high-grade silver deposits, which are relatively small in size versus classic, massive sulphide deposits depleted in gold and silver. Thor currently hosts an NI 43-101 compliant high-grade precious/base metal Resource of more than 1M tonnes (2013).

In May, Taranis Resources updated exploration modeling of the Ridge Target at Thor. The Company has comprehensively reviewed all available exploration data in the area north of the Thor deposit. It has identified drill targets under a large topographic feature called “Thor’s Ridge”. The data review included surface rock sampling, diamond drilling, geological mapping, ground electromagnetic and magnetic surveys.

The surface sampling and drill hole sampling identified a new, separate horizon of mineralization that extends northwest under Thor’s Ridge. The prospective target under Thor’s Ridge has a strike length of 1,100 m and is gold-rich relative to base metal content. In addition, soil sampling completed by Westmin Resources in 1980 indicates that the prospective target horizon continues another 1,500 m to the north down to Mountain Goat Creek for a combined prospective strike length of 2,600 m.

Earlier this month, Taranis Resources provided more information regarding the 10,000 tonne bulk-sampling program at Thor. To date (June 6, 2019), attention has been focused on the extraction of the main minerals of interest (containing Ag, Au, Pb, Zn & Cu). Taranis has identified six other elements/metals susceptible to the gravity pre-concentration process and that have the potential to add value to the existing Ag, Au, Pb, Zn, Cu Resource at Thor documented by Roscoe Postle Associates (RPA) in 2013.

Of these six elements/metals, only one has been routinely analyzed during exploration drilling. This is antimony. Rubidium, indium, scandium, cesium and strontium require special analytical procedures and detection limits, which are outside the scope of normal exploration work for precious/base metal deposits. Therefore, Taranis Resources is planning to evaluate the concentration and disposition of these additional valuable elements during processing of the 10,000 tonne bulk sample. The design of the bulk sample is to be broadly representative of the main Thor deposit.

  • Alta Mesa Plant (ISR) is located on over 200,000 acres of private land in Texas. The fully licensed and constructed ISR project has a total operating capacity of 1.5 million pounds of uranium per year and produced nearly 5 million pounds of U3O8 between 2005 and 2013. This low-cost production facility is currently on standby, maintained in a state of readiness to respond to expected increases in demand.

In addition to being the largest uranium miner in the U.S., Energy Fuels’ overall portfolio also includes a pipeline of high-quality, large-scale exploration and development projects that are permitted or are in advanced stages of permitting, as well as an industry-leading U.S. NI 43-101 Mineral Resource portfolio.

Nuclear Market Potential

These factors among others are expected to significantly drive increased demand for uranium.

Reasons Nuclear is Gaining Traction

  • Nuclear reactors emit no greenhouse gases during operation. Over their full lifetimes, they result in comparable emissions to renewable forms of energy such as wind and solar.
  • Unlike any other form of energy, the waste from nuclear energy is contained and managed securely. Used fuel is currently being safely stored for ultimate disposal or future reprocessing, and 96% of this waste can potentially be recycled.
  • Greater demand for clean electricity to power everything from homes to automobiles, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

No. 1 U.S. Producer of Vanadium in 2019

Energy Fuels also produces vanadium as a byproduct of uranium production. Vanadium is designated a critical mineral, essential to the economic and national security of the United States. Energy Fuels was the largest producer of vanadium in the U.S. in 2019, and has significant high-grade, in-ground vanadium resources, as well as a separate high-purity vanadium production circuit at their White Mesa Mill, which is also the only conventional vanadium mill in the country. Crucial for use in the steel, aerospace, and chemical industries, vanadium plays a critical role in the production of high-strength and light-weight metallic alloys and demand is expected to increase across the globe.

Energy Fuels has several fully permitted and developed standby mines containing large quantities of high-grade vanadium, along with uranium, including:

Vanadium has also gained increased attention as a catalyst in next-generation high-capacity, “community-scale” batteries used for energy storage generated from renewable sources. The White Mesa Mill is also the only facility in North America licensed and capable of recycling alternate feed materials (AFMs). AFMs are essentially low-level waste materials that contain recoverable quantities of natural (or unenriched) uranium. The Company typically generates between $5 and $15 million per year from AFM recycling. Finally, Energy Fuels is seeking to become involved in the cleanup of legacy Cold War era uranium mines in the Four Corners region of the U.S., including on the Navajo Nation. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has access to over $1.5 billion for the cleanup of just a fraction of the sites on the Navajo Nation. The White Mesa Mill is fully licensed to receive much of this material, we are one of the government’s lowest cost options, and we have the ability to recycle the material and produce usable uranium from it.

Mark S. W. Paul Goranson is the chief operating officer for Energy Fuels. Leadership

Sammy Wing Hong Hsieh, chairman of the board and co-founder, was CEO from 2009 to 2019. Prior to co-founding iClick, Hsieh held senior positions in several prominent technology companies. He was general manager for Asia Pacific at Efficient Frontier (now an Adobe company), a leading digital performance marketing company, and was director of Search Marketing at Yahoo Hong Kong from 2000-2008. Hsieh received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jian Tang, director, CEO and co-founder, has 20 years of experience in digital advertising and is well-known in China for his expertise in advertising technologies and big data. In 2012, he founded OptAim, which was acquired by iClick in 2015, and has served key research, engineering and management roles at Yahoo’s global research and development center. Tang received his doctorate in computer engineering from Tsinghua University and was named by Campaign Asia as one of the leaders in its Digital A-List in 2016.

Terence Chi Wai Li, chief financial officer, has 15 years of experience in financial management, investment and business operations. He has served in management roles and advisory capacities at several start-ups, in addition to financial management and fundraising roles. He previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in M&A due diligence and cross border tax and deal structuring projects. Li received an MBA from Oxford University’s Said Business School. He is a Fellow Member of ACCA, a Member of HKICPA, and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Market Opportunity

Electric motors are the single biggest consumer of electricity. Laboratory Expansion

The 6,500-square-foot Exro Innovation Center (EIC), scheduled to open spring of 2020 in Calgary, will transition the current Victoria lab into one Calgary based center. The company’s new laboratory space will expand its service capabilities to customers, provide larger test capabilities, and showcase how Exro’s technology can be applied to dramatically improve the performance of electrical motors.

The EIC will also host collaborative events to explore advances in energy consumption and electric motor innovations, with participants from across Canada and around the world.

Strategic Partnerships

  • A strategic agreement with Finland’s Aurora Powertrains Oy, which in 2019 released an all-electric production snowmobile called the “eSled,” will see Exro’s technology added to the Aurora electric powertrain. The snowmobile sector’s economic footprint is estimated at $26 billion in the U.S., $8 billion in Canada, and $5 billion in Europe and Asia.
  • An agreement with Potencia in Mexico serving the last mile vehicle segment will integrate Exro’s custom drive and EPM module into small passenger commercial vehicles (taxis) and fleet delivery trucks
  • A licensing agreement with Motorino Electric, a leader in the Canadian electric transportation industry, will integrate Exro’s Electric Power Module technology into Motorino’s CTi electric bicycle.

Management

Chief Executive Officer Sue Ozdemir is a proven leader in the innovation and manufacturing of electric motors. She has nine years of accomplishments at General Electric, acting as CCO and the CEO of GE’s Small Industrial Motors Division, overseeing the division’s North American and international markets – ultimately building the division into a $160 million enterprise.
